Winter Snow Fun

January 27, 2016 By Mary Hill 11 Comments

Ice Dreams and Snow Angels

My family enjoyed a light dusting of winter ice and snow this past weekend. We only got a taste of Winter Storm Jonas which dumped blizzard amounts of winter precipitation in cities north of us.

My granddaughter adds the final touches to her beautiful snow angel.                                                                      My granddaughter adds the final touches to her beautiful snow angel.

We never get as much winter weather as other upstate South Carolina communities, but when we get a snowfall we immediately head outdoors. Snow in our area comes like a dream, drifting in but melting in the afternoon sun.

very pretty. I am not big on snow, which is why we moved south of Ohio last year…but Tennessee still gets some. 😉

Beautiful photos. Never experienced snow over here in Jamaica but you guys sure find ways to make it look fun despite the cold.

Fun! Here in Maine, we notice it more if we DON”T get snow than if we do, but I still think there’s something magical about snow and kids and pets and fun!

Wonderful photos! I love the picture of your granddaughter with her snow angel – very sweet. Your town square also looks so idyllic! We got just a tiny amount of snow in Atlanta last weekend.

I loved your snow pictures. Some of my childhood years were in Columbia and we often had furloughs there so I know exactly what you are talking about . Snow was a definite highlight when it came and especially when it would stick a little.

Amy thanks for stopping by. I lived in Columbia too in the 1980s and 1990s going to undergrad and then graduate school at USC. 🙂
