New Improved #LMML and Introducing Another New Host

October 24, 2016 By Mary Hill 15 Comments

Welcome back to the new and improved Literacy Musing Mondays. Last week we met Brandi.  I am proud to introduce our other new host, Leah.

Leah Courtney

Hi, I’m Leah, a homeschool mom of four children who loves reading and blogging and…did I mention reading? I’ve been homeschooling for almost fourteen years now, and I’m very close to graduating my oldest daughter! I’ve been blogging since early in my homeschool days, but my early blog posts were just journals of what was happening in our homeschool- so everybody in the world could see that we built the Great Pyramid with Legos that day. Woohoo!

In more recent years, I’ve tried to make the blog a place where other homeschool moms can go to find information and encouragement. I still share things we’re doing in our homeschooling, but I also try to answer questions that other homeschool moms might have and give free resources that I think other homeschoolers can use. I’ve also recently published my first eBook all about homeschool lesson planning. I love to create unit studies that I share on the blog, and I’ve compiled thirty-one of them into a book form.
I’m looking forward to joining with the other hosts to bring your Literacy Musings Mondays linkup each week because reading and literature is my special passion- as a reader myself and as a homeschooling mom. I’m looking forward to reading your great posts and getting to know some of you as we share our posts.
You can visit me on the blog -As We Walk Along the Road- at aswewalkalongtheroad.com. I’d love for you to stop by and say hi!

With our new hosts on board, next we will work on a new button for the linkup as well as “Featured On” button.

In other news, I want to encourage my readers to continue reading my series 31 Christian Women Bloggers Who Inspire a Closer Walk with Jesus. Have I selected a blogger you know and love? Be sure check out my landing page to see whom I will be writing about this month. This series is part of the annual October Write 31 Days Challenge. 31 Days is an online writing challenge started by home blogger, Myquillyn Smith (The Nester), and now hosted by Crystal Stine, where bloggers pick one topic and write a post on that topic every day in October.

What do I hope to accomplish introducing you to these dynamic Christian women bloggers? Even though my focus is on them, the mission of my series is to glorify and honor Jesus, our Savior and to sew together a beautiful tapestry of grace and love. These Christian women bloggers do not seek fame or fortune. These women are concerned about your walk with Christ and write to help you draw nearer to Him,
They offer their words as gifts to others to encourage and uplift, to glorify our Lord and Savior. I hope my series will bless you whether you blog or not.
Many of these women also contributed to the Five Minute Friday Book: A Collection of Stories Written in Five Minutes Flat. I also contributed to this book which features the best writing of Kate Motaung’s Five Minute Friday community.
I am so proud about my participation in this book because all profits from the book will be divided equally between two ministries in South Africa: The Vine School in Cape Town, and The Ten Dollar Tribe!
I hope you will consider supporting us by purchasing a copy of the book on Amazon.

Last Week’s Top Clicked Post!

I’m Throwing in the Towel

www-myupstatelife-com-4

The blogger gives an honest review of a book, and discusses why she couldn’t finish it. It is refreshing to know that sometimes, we all find books that we don’t enjoy and want to throw int the towel over them. What is the most recent book that you could not finish? Be sure to check out this post.

  2. Link up the urls to your posts not to your blog.
  3. Please remember this is a family-friendly linkup. We reserve the right to delete any posts that are not family friendly. We love all kinds of literature and genres including family-friendly inspirational romances, fantasy, or science fiction. We do not welcome any posts that feature excessive violence, sexual content, or any cursing. This rule also applies to book review posts that feature books that are not family-friendly. These posts will be deleted without notice to the blogger or explanation.
