#LMMLinkup: Focus Special Writing Projects

October 2, 2016 By Mary Hill 7 Comments

Writing and reading is central to the Literacy Musing Monday community. Welcome back to our weekly linkup.  My first order of business is sharing two  opportunities to support me as a writer.

First is the Write 31 Day Challenge.  This is annual October challenge where thousands gather to write on one topic for the whole month. My series is on 31 Christian Women Bloggers Who Inspire a Closer Walk with Jesus. I began working on my series in July.

My post so far include:

Tehila Gonen: An Encourager of Women Abiding in True Faith

Jolene Underwood: Hope Pursuer in Christ Jesus

What do I hope to accomplish introducing you to these dynamic Christian women bloggers? Even though my focus is on them, the mission of my series is to glorify and honor Jesus, our Savior and to sew together a beautiful tapestry of grace and love. These Christian women bloggers do not seek fame or fortune. These women are concerned about your walk with Christ and write to help you draw nearer to Him,
They offer their words as gifts to others to encourage and uplift, to glorify our Lord and Savior. I hope my series will bless you whether you blog or not.
Many of these women also contributed to the Five Minute Friday Book: A Collection of Stories Written in Five Minutes Flat. This is my second opportunity. I also contributed to this book which features the best writing of Kate Motaung’s Five Minute Friday community.
I am so proud about my participation in this book because all profits from the book will be divided equally between two ministries in South Africa: The Vine School in Cape Town, and The Ten Dollar Tribe!
I hope you will consider supporting us by purchasing a copy of the book on Amazon.

I welcome all Write 31 Day participants. We are community and would love to support your endeavors this month so link up your wonderful posts this week. Are you participating in the Write 31 Day Challenge? What do you hope to accomplish and learn with your participation?

Sometimes We Want Results Now…and That’s Not How Parenting Always Works

By Suzanna At Wonder-filled Days

Need some encouragement in your parenting journey.  I know the title sounds far from encouraging, but read to the end. Fill up on this central truth, :By ourselves, we are not mom enough, but with God, we can do all things.”

My Favorite Post of the Week:

Fall children's books

Fun Fall Kids’ Books

By Leah Courtney

I am so ready for autumn and fall to arrive. It is still in the 80’s in South Carolina during the day. Last week we had temps in the 90’s. This week will be our first cool week in months with highs in the mid-70’s. When riding in my car, I am watching the trees. I can’t wait to see the reds and oranges. I also love fall books. Leah features beautiful books filled with blazing colors and poetic language. Be sure to check out her recommendations.

Remember to check out other hosts’  blogs to see which posts from last week were their favorites. Want to be the next to be featured! Just link up a post and if you are read the most, we will feature you. Also please make sure you link back to us so others will know about our link up and join in. We try to make it worth your while to linkup with us by promoting your posts across our social media networks. We also pin our most clicked and featured posts to our Pinterest Board each week!

Hi Mary! I want to respect the kind of post you want in your link up and at the same time I want you to know about this new social media that is VERY friendly for bloggers hoping to boost content. I’ve done a review of it and I’m sharing it in this comment rather than the link up because it’s not literacy focused: https://www.minds.com/newsfeed/629809112808435723
Thanks, Renee from the Redeemed blog.

What a great idea for a 31 days series! And see, you definitely know hot up there in SC, but at least you do still get to enjoy the leaves…eventually! 😉 Have a great week!

[…] Recently Mary Hill asked if I would be willing to share my story on her blog — and she even provided a list of questions to guide my thinking.  She’s a great friend who works hard to build community through her writing ministry.  I always enjoy the mingling of stories that happens at her place each Monday.
