I fully intended to return in September but life got in the way. I suffered a knee injury that keeps me in pain, and we faced a change in our household which doubled in the past month because of financial crisis for our daughter’s family.
To say I am struggling is an understatement. Having two energetic toddlers injected into your home creates challenges you never dreamed of. Try to find quiet time with them running around seems impossible some days.
Add to that a torn ligament in my knee that I thought had healed but keeps coming back. In 2010, the doctor performed knee replacements on both my knees. I didn’t know I could still tear ligaments around them. I will need to go back to the doctor this week to see what they can do about this injury because it has reoccurred or maybe it never fully healed?
I hate to sound like a complainer, I really do. I wonder sometimes when you blog how honest should you be? Do people really care about your struggles? What is my purpose as a blogger?
My friend and a regular contributor the community proved to me that you guys really do care. Gayl sent me a wonderful card this week that uplifted me and encouraged me to post this week.
I am also determined to write for 31 Days with Kate Motaung despite my situations.
I hope you continue to support our community even when life throws curveballs at me. I will try to muster through and post more regularly from now on.
Thanks for your support.
Now on to our linkup.

I don’t usually place a comment on this blog, but I am Mary’s Mom and feel that I should at this time. I have had the privilege of having two wonderful daughters that love the Lord and their overbearing mother regardless. Mary has been a real trooper with all that she has had to deal with. I know her problems and pitfalls that seem to jump out and try to grab her and though she may stress out momentarily, she snaps back with grace and courage. I love you Mary and am thankful to have you for a daughter. I have been through two surgeries in two years and was lost to myself for awhile, but the second surgery has me energetic and ready to take on the world. Thank you that I can call you at anytime and know you will be here to assist me though you are overwhelmed with other family issues. Will continue to pray for you and please keep on keeping on.
Thanks mom. I love you.

I’m so sorry to hear that you’re having such hard circumstances, Mary. 🙁 But I’m glad you are sharing them with us. Praying for you now. Even when we know that this too shall pass, we still have to get through the day. One day at a time. May the Lord’s mercies be new every morning in a way you can grab hold of them and hang on.
Lisa,
Thank you for your prayers. I really believe God is blessing me because of them.
Mary, You are amazing and a woman full of grace and compassion! (Mary is my sister, if anyone is reading through her comments. She also housed my family back in May and June when we were unable to find a home near my husbands new church. He was called to pastor a church near my sister’s town, but we couldn’t find a place to live. Mary graciously opened her home to us. She is the most generous person i know and she is always willing to help anyone in need despite her own infirmities. She is the best sister in the world and an amazingly gracious woman!) I love you Mary! Keep blogging. 🙂

Mary, thanks for the update – I’ve been concerned about your absence!
I’m sorry to hear about your knee and that you are having a difficult time.
Praying that all goes well on your appt, that God heals your knee, and that you are able to find periods of rest in what sounds like a very chaotic environment right now!
xoxo
You are a wonderful sister in Christ. I so appreciate your prayers.

Mary – I think your honesty is excellent. You hold all of us up in prayer and give to so many people. It gives everyone a chance to return the prayer and encouragement.
I am praying for you right now! Sorry, you are in pain. Oh my goodness a knee issue with two toddlers sounds exhausting and challenging. Enjoy those little ones.
Blessings,
Maree

Mary, I have wondered about you…if you were okay. So sorry to hear about your knee issue and pain. Praying for your doctor appointment and for healing. And prayers for your daughter’s family. While the solitude and quiet is hard to come by with the toddlers, I imagine this can also be seen as a joyful blessing in having little ones under your roof again. Grateful for this community and appreciate your vulnerability in what’s going on in your life. That’s what Christian community is about. 🙂
Karen,
I am so appreciative of you and your support. Thank you so much.
Oh Dear Mary,
I am so sorry for the recent difficulties that have increased in intensity. I will be keeping you in my prayers, especially for your RA to stay in check during the healing of the knee injury. Bless you dear RAsister.
Mary, I have been keeping you in prayer each week that you weren’t here suspecting you weren’t well! I’m delighted you’re back & will continue to keep you in prayer.
Blessings,
Jennifer

I’m so sorry, Mary. Life just seems to pile it on sometimes, and it’s hard to discern God’s purposes in it all. But He has them, even if we don’t know what they are. I pray for resolution to your daughter’s family’s crisis, grace in dealing with all the effects of having extra people in your home, and healing for your knee. I agree with what others have said, especially Michele: I appreciate that you always write from your heart.

I’m so sorry to hear you have been struggling with health issues and I do care. I’m praying for you today. When we downsized to our small home 20 or so years ago, we never thought we would share it with my husband’s aging parents, then my mom. Now we have a granddaughter living with us for a season. It has held many blessings but its fair share of challenges, too.
I think readers do care about our struggles and our triumphs. In some weird way it encourages each of us. So hang in there. John 16:33
I’m so sorry to hear about the return of an old injury. I don’t know about you, but my tolerance level when an affliction comes back seems less and less with each return. Praying for wisdom for the doctor’s and the Lord’s healing touch.
I had a brief glimpse of what this season of your life is like just last week when my daughter and grandchildren stayed with us for a few days. Indeed toddlers and one crawling around injected MUCH activity into this Mimi’s life! I think I’m still recuperating. lol.
Thanks so much for hosting. We all appreciate it!

I don’t think you are complaining at all. I love reading your posts. You speak the truth and let us see that life isn’t always perfect and shiny like some people do on social media. I am sorry about your knee. I hope it heals soon and you find some relief from the extra pain and stress.

We all have a lot going on, no one has to know everything we go through only God, but we still need friendship and prayer. I always want to encourage people, I’m not even sure they would believe what I have overcome. He gets the glory. Prayers and favor.
I think our calling as bloggers is to write from the heart–which you have always done and continue to do.
Thank you for letting us know how you are. I have been wondering.
