God’s ideal loving family: Coming home to a supportive mom and dad who love me and who support me no matter what.
I had that to a degree, but I also lived with a father whom suffered from bipolar disorder and mania. Crashing in the night, screaming became a regular feature of my family life. Family is supposed to be safe and loving. Family is of God. In God’s perfect will, a loving family serves as a haven in the storm.
My family seemed dysfunctional and full of unrest, but my parents remained together, and my mother buttressed us from stress and shielded us from my father’s anger. She did her best to ensure our family had joy and peace even at the expense of her own. She stayed for us so we could have a father and semblance of normalcy.
As I look around today, it seems every family looks more and more like mine did. Families are going up in flames. The divorce rate skyrockets in our society and more children find themselves living in blended families or in single mother homes.
[tweetthis twitter_handles=”@MaryHill16″]Modernity and the chaos of our times have put God’s family in jeopardy. [/tweetthis] We are threatened on all continents. In extremist Muslim countries, Christian families are attacked and children ripped away sold into slavery.
In America, standing for the traditional family of a man and woman building a family of love under the banner of Christ ostracizes and is seen as hate. The concept of marriage and family is analogy used for the church. For this cause, Christ loved His bride, the church, and he sacrificed his life. He bled and died for the salvation of His bride and her children, us.
Satan knows family’s importance in humanity and is doing everything he can to destroy our families. Family of today is torn down; broken. Children face violence and abuse from sick and twisted parents. Satan is attacking on all fronts.
[tweetthis twitter_handles=”@MaryHill16″]Who will go before God and say save the family?[/tweetthis]
The end times are nearing. Christ in Heaven waits for His Father to say go and retrieve your Bride. No one knows the day or hour of His coming. It could be tomorrow or a hundred years from now.
Until then, the Christian family needs revival like never before. Fathers and mothers need to pray and praise. Christian men need to stand up and say no more. Women need to support their husbands as heads and love them sacrificially for their children’s sake.
We have a call to arms in America. The drumbeat booms and the war claims casualties daily as the faith of the Christian church is buffeted. We need to stand together like never before. Christian Catholic and Protestant need to proclaim God’s truths throughout our lands for our families.
His family needs to raise a banner of love and peace. Bandage up our families. Bring love back and create havens where children can find Christ’s love and beauty.
Our mission as women shines for us all in this age. Bow before our sovereign Lord, give Him the glory and the honor. Raise children whom seek Him first and foremost in their lives. Teach them His ways and His precepts. Pray for our husbands and children. Pray for revival for the Bride of Christ.
Will you answer the call today? What major battles face the church and families? What do you feel is God’s ideal of a loving family. Share your thoughts and prayers in the comment box.

Magnificent! Thank you, Mary, for voicing so eloquently the need today. To repent and turn back to Jesus, trusting His, teaching and loving ourselves and others like He loves us. Hugs, Susan

AMEN!!! I can just see you standing in front of a crowd proclaiming this! The tension mounted with every paragraph and I felt my heart stir in agreement and a call to act as I read! This is the family I desire for my husband and I and any children God wills to bring into our home and it is my sincere prayer to be a Godly family! #DanceWithJesus

Amen! Joining you in praying for our families.
I do my best to be a family for my students who don’t really have family. If all of us include the lonely, the left out, the saddened and the woebegone, our families will be so much richer.

Family is so important, and has such power. And the brokenness of families in this country breaks my heart, because the inherent power of the family is broken, and it impacts SO much!
Hi, Mary.
Families are being broken here in Japan, too.
We need God, our Father, to help us.

Yes we need to fight against the enemy’s attacks…he seeks to kill and destroy. I have seen his own attempts in my family to tear us apart and some times all I can do is pray. Great post!!
