I sat late into the evening praying to my God.
My heart seemed heavy as He alluded me. His answer would not come.
I cried broken.
I wanted Him to capture me.
My life rolls on and I can’t seem to find Him some days.
I walk through the valleys looking for Him
I can’t exist. I can’t breathe.
If I am to be a captive. I want to be His.
Capture me Jesus, I pray.
Who am I but a mere woman.
My daughter sleeps in the other room.
I continue my battle for her future in Christ.
God capture her too.
Capture her mind.
Capture her heart.
Hold her close; don’t let her roam
From your grace,
Your protection
Your salvation.
I hear her laughter, her singing voice.
Please rescue her. Capture her Lord.
Better you than a devil who walks about
roaring, seeing to destroy her.

Continuing to write for 31 Days, an online writing challenge started by home blogger, Myquillyn Smith (The Nester), and now hosted by Crystal Stine, where bloggers pick one topic and write a post on that topic every day in October. I am also joining my friend Kate Motaung and my friends from the Five Minute Friday community during this challenge. Kate worked with community bloggers to develop the 2015 edition of 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes, Readers’ Choice Awards, a writing link-up in conjunction with the annual Write 31 Days Challenge. For the five minute, free write sessions, Kate encouraged bloggers to submit ideas for one-word prompts for each day of the challenge. Today’s word: “Capture.”

Mary, I hear your yearning for your daughter. I pray she makes right choices in these formidable years. xo

Oh, I can just feel the emotion in this! My son is very small, but I’m starting to realize what women mean when they talk about those fervent prayers for little ones.

Beautiful! “Captivated” (similar to “Captured”) is one of my favorite words … and also my prayer for myself and my children … my heart resonated with your post!

Well-done. You’ve captured many a mother’s prayer right here!
Nice. Love your prayer.

I’ve said that prayer many a time, my friend! May God capture each of us and find us willing to to turn over our rebel hearts.

Oh I found myself praying along in agreement with this so strongly! Too often I feel I am seeking His presence and can’t find it! Blessings on your journey, can’t wait to follow!
Krista, I am so glad you stopped by. I can’t wait to read more of your lovely comments. 😉
