Our lives blink by in a moment. Moment by moment we spiral toward the end.
Sometimes, I lose sight of life’s call. What do we live for? Why do we draw our next breath. How do we find meaning in our moments?
He knew me from the beginning of time and ordained everyday of my life.
I faced another health trial this week, but I refused to give in to my enemy who can only walk about like a roaring lion. Jesus controls my life not Him.
I hope my series brings you hope as well.
When life’s difficulties weigh me down, I remember the scripture:
2 Corinthians 4:17
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment,
worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
How does one live out this scripture in the heat of the trials; when our afflictions look like mountains? I know as a young woman, I struggled with this. My faith wavered and sometimes, I lost sight of God.
Where are you in your moment-by-moment faith?
As I look back over the years, I offer these discovered truths:
1. We live in seasons as written in Ecclesiastes 3:1.
To every thing there is a season,
and a time to every purpose under the heaven
2. You can cling to the simple truth found in Romans 8:28:
And we know that all things work together
for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called
according to his purpose.
3. No matter what you or I face, such as health problems of close family members to my own struggles with anemia and arthritis, I (we) can be of good cheer because of my life verse John 16:33:
I have told you these things,
so that in me you may have peace.
In this world you will have trouble.
But take heart! I have overcome the world.
4. No matter what you face today, your deliverance is at hand either in this world or the next. Psalms 30: 5 b states:
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
5. Trials do not mean that God has forsaken you nor me; not for even a moment as it states in Deuteronomy 31:6.
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
6. In the midst of trials, live out Philippians 4 by:
Rejoic(ing) in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
Be careful for nothing;
but in every thing by prayer
and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God,
which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

There’s that Ecclesiastes verse again. It keeps showing up in my life this week. 🙂
Thank you for the important reminder about the importance of grounding all our moments in the truth of Scripture.
