Psalm 92:5
O Lord, how great are thy works! And thy thoughts are very deep.
Psalm 107:24, 29
These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.
He maketh the storm a calm so that the waves thereof are still.

I sink into a stormy, dark, and deep sea. Storms blow around me, and the wind and cold rain buffeting my skin like sharp knives. I am afraid, until I see you, Lord, walking through the midst of the storm, arms outstretched offering me a hand.
You have never forsaken me in the deep waters. You lead me through storms and calamity.
You rescue me from dark places and bring me to solid ground.
Jesus awaits you too. What storms do you face today? What is deep dark chasm trying to swallow you whole?
God is your rescue. He stretches His arms to you. Grab them. Let Him pull you from the deep. Let Him save you and uplift you.
You may wonder how? How do I accept God’s love in my life when I feel like I find myself mired in a pit?
First, you realize that no matter what storms you face, you are not alone. Others, too, have had to thread their way to victory. You take hope in their testimonies of success. You don’t dare to compare and feel less, but realize that God loves you too and wants to rescue you out of the deep and bring you into His glory and love.
Next, you develop a prayer habit. Refuse to let a day pass where you are not in constant prayer and thanksgiving.
Finally, praise your way of the deep. In this November 2018 post, I shared how Paul’s praises in jail caused an earthquake that released him from his chains.
How do you call out to God when you are in deep, stormy waters?

I don’t think there is a right way to call out to Him. We can do it with all our halting, weak efforts because He is always there and knows what we will say before it’s even on our breath. But He wants us to do it, doesn’t He!
