Container gardening for me is almost spiritual. I love this time of year when I can plan my container garden full of herbs and flowers. This year I am growing french lavender, basil, several types of mints, Mexican sage, Greek oregano, lemon thyme, and French lavender. My flowers include marigolds and different varieties of lantanas.
With all that is going on, I found some respite in planting my herbs this weekend. Spending time with Christ and reflecting on His provision in my life. I use the herbs throughout the summer in my cooking.
I also love these great books and resources on gardening. Just click on the images (affiliate links) to find out more about them on Amazon.

I just planted flowers in pots this weekend myself. I haven’t done much in my flower beds the past two years, but having the pots is a satisfying substitute. Hope your garden grows well, Mary! At least you’ll be able to eat the fruit of your labor; I won’t. 🙂
I admire you. I would like to reap the benefits of fresh herbs without the work of maintaining them. laurensparks.net
Enjoyed your pictures–I love having herbs in my garden and finding ways to include them in recipes. And I agree, I am refreshed by spending time planting and observing the amazing variety of plants that God has created!
Nice! I’m afraid I don’t have a green thumb at all, but I admire those who do. My neighbors bless us with their bounty sometimes.

I garden — a little. I like getting started, but I struggle to stay on top of it throughout the season. We’ll see how forgiving the snap peas, green beans, lettuce, cukes, pepper and basil are this year!
