I have joined a blog hopping frenzy. Still blogging A to Z, but I have also joined Christina Morley’s Make My Saturdays Sweet blog hop and Sincerely Paula’s No Rules Weekend Blog Party. Having fun meeting other bloggers and learning from all the tip blogs, poetry blogs. Salivating over the food blogs and wishing I had that product blogs.
It has been a crazy poetry month on Mary-andering Creatively while over at Mary-andering Thoughts and Issues, I am behind schedule. 😛 Well, I hope to catch up next week.
I have gotten so involved in reading blogs and putting them on my feedly that I have almost 700 blogs to follow now. How do you veterans do it?
Well, back to poetry. I have enjoyed learning about the types of poems out there. Learned a lot of new things and tried new forms of poetry. Still can’t hear the stresses though. What about some of my new poetry friends? How do you hear the stresses? I guess I will have to buy a poem dictionary?
Poetry has always been something I have enjoyed reading and writing. I don’t get into the artsy-fartsy stuff too much. I want my poetry to be straight forward with its message. I love poems that are simple, to the point, but are profound. I strived to accomplish this this month. I could not come up with X so to speak so I decided to review my goals for the month.
For Y and Z? Well, you will just have to wait and see. In the meantime, check out the blog hops above. 🙂
I will check out the blog hops. Thanks!
I do wonder how some people can keep up with all the blogs they follow. AtoZ definitely has given me a huge number of blogs to follow 🙂

Just Another Blog
I wrote a guest blog post about meter–don’t know if you’ll find any of it helpful, but it’s here: http://theswimmerwriter.blogspot.com/2013/04/the-art-of-writing-rhyming-picturebooks.html
I can’t keep up with the blogs I follow at all! I basically think of the blogosphere as a fantastic, wonderful party, where I wish I could participate in every conversation as it happens. But…I can’t. So I tell myself, “I have 20 minutes to wander through the party today.” And I open up my blog reader and click here and there, and then I say Mark All as Read, so that I don’t feel guilty about the hundreds or thousands of posts piling up unread. That’s what kind of works for me:>)
Hi Mary, Thanks for letting me know you nominated me for a Leibster award, I will get on to it after the challenge. I like my poetry to be simple and straight forward too. I like playing with words but I get lost if it’s too complicated. I too have joined and read lots of blogs this month, and i am looking forward to going back and reading all the posts I missed along the way… there just isn’t enough time 🙂
It’s all in the fingers! I tap my poem out reading it aloud (in your head you can change rhythms easily and not realize it as easily). You get a rhythm going as you tap, and when it breaks, you know you have a problem… Sometimes I leave my problem, and sometimes I realize it just has to be fixed and tend to it. As for keeping up with following…i don’t know how.
Regarding stressed vs. unstressed syllables in poetry, the following website might help you:

Bridget, thanks for the site. Will visit asap.
