Psalm 18:35-36
Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation:
and thy right hand hath holden me up,
and thy gentleness hath made me great.
Thou hast enlarged my steps under me,
that my feet did not slip.

Jesus is my strong defender, my champion, and my hope. How can we rely on Him to deliver us in our time of need? He is there for us if we call out His name.
I find trouble when I try to rely on my strength and be strong in my power. I am weak compared to Jesus. My life is just a flicker in time while He is eternal, almighty God.
Sometimes, it seems that a barrier exists between my God and me. I can’t feel His grace or love.
That is why we don’t rely on emotions, as one of my blog supporters told me recently. We stand on the strong promises found in scripture.
Some of His most beautiful promises include:
Philippians 4:19
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me.
John 14:18
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Psalms 84:11
For the LORD God [is] a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good [thing] will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
To which promises of God found in the Scriptures do you cling?
