V stands for “verse paragraph.” A verse paragraph involves poetic prose told in modified paragraph forms. Each line could stand on its on or actually be written in a paragraph.
The Poetry Foundation’s Learning Labs Glossary of Poetic Terms has an excellent description on the verse paragraph along with examples.
Poems, verse and lines
Combine to make pictures come alive.
Poems of cats and dogs and even wooded logs
Poems of dancing bees and willow trees
Poems of flowers and beautiful towers
Roam through this poetic landscape
Don’t worry about finding a map … just escape
