Thankfulness and a Quick Thought for Your Saturday

Ten Things of Thankful
http://summat2thinkon.blogspot.com/

Another week has gone into the history books, so now it is time to reflect about what I have to be thankful for this past week:

1.  Spending time with family.  We had a great stay-at-home dinner and a movie night last night. We watched Jack and the Giant Slayer. The giants were funny and nasty all at the same time.

2. Sweet pets to love.

Photo: Lily used to love me. Now, she only has eyes for my future son-in-law. They are best buds.
3.  New addition to the family. My future son-in-law.  My Lily only has eyes for him when he is visiting.

4.  Time to write. I have been blogging so much lately. Next week, I plan to take one day off a week to pay attention to my writing. I am trying to work on a novel.

5.  More readers and followers of my blogs.  I have 523 Facebook followers, more than 200 GFC, Blogloving, and NetworkedBlog followers, and 300 Twitter followers.  I am excited that people like what I have to share.  πŸ™‚

6.   Nine baby birds in the birdhouse. I have to get out there and take pictures this week.  Maybe another Wordless Wednesday?  Anyone want a parakeet. They are blue and white.  We have nine babies out and about five more in the box.

7.  I have a birdfeeder up and the most beautiful wild birds are coming up to my porch.  I can’t get pictures though they fly away to quick.

8.  I saw some gorgeous deer this week.  We have spotted them
White-tailed Deer
I didn’t take this picture. Found it on
the Famous South Carolina  Creatures website.

everwhere.  One ran across the road as we driving the other day, and a little fawn followed its mother.  We got to stop and watch them disappear into the woods.  I need to get a really good camera so I can photograph the deer this fall.

9.  I am enjoying life in general. My pain is there, but I have to many good things to be thankful for to dwell on it for long.
10.   A beautiful home and time with my oldest daughter.  She is staying with us this weekend.
Overall it has been a good week.

Josie from Josie Two Shoes introduced me to this blog hop.  I am glad I found it.  Now for my six words this week:

My Goal: Find Time to Write

That’s it for this week. I will post on Monday with Monday Mingling and other fun hops that I discovered.  God Bless. πŸ™‚

I saw Jack the Giant Slayer a couple of weeks ago!! I enjoyed it. It had a tv movie type of feel but it was still entertaining to watch. πŸ˜€

Ah! Blogger ate my original comment!

Anyway I’m glad you’re enjoying every moment Mary and your pets, future son-in-law and daughter visiting goes well with the beautiful scenery you have around you. Best of luck and I have a similar writing goal myself.

It’s an excellent goal. Doing it, not so easy. I hope you succeed, Mary. πŸ™‚

A truly wonderful list, obviously from someone who sees her blessings and counts them often! My critters are high on my love list too, as well as the wild birds at our feeder and the occasional critters including the feral cats that venture up to the deck for the food and water set out for them. Having a grown child home for a visit… priceless! Mine live far distant and the visits between us are not nearly often enough, thanking God for cellphones, texting and instant photos which keep us close at heart!

That made me chuckle SO much – I was working down the photographs under your ‘thankful for pets’ bit and got to the last and was all “Gosh! It seems a little overstepping the line to suggest you keep young men as pets!” but your next Thing quickly made sense of it.

Your baby birds are cute. I was about to say “But they look like Budgies” then did some research and discovered that they’re one and the same! Who knew?

Thanks for linking up with us. I do like your Ten Things of Thankful and always look forward to seeing you on the blog hop. I’m glad that your stats are going up – it’s always nice when that happens πŸ™‚

Thanks. I love your hop. I will be a regular. I have found other hops too now. I guess that will be my niche, creatively hopping around on blog hops.

Family time is the best. I have been trying to rent Jack the Giant Slayer but it is always out when I go. I’ll try again. Keep up the blogging and good luck on the novel! πŸ™‚

Such lovely things for which to be thankful. Especially time with family. And wild bird sightings. And deer.
Good luck finding the time to write as much as you’d like.
So glad you link up with us each week!

I love your blog. It reminds me to physically stop and take time out during the day to name what I am thankful for. I always have good intentions, but the day gets so busy and it’s often not until I see your posts that I remember to focus on gratitude. So on my own “thankful” list today, I would add your blog and its inspiration! Thanks!
