Birthday Skating, Not Shaving and Praising!
I wrote yesterday and shared about the snow we woke up to in Upstate South Carolina. The snow was gone by 11 a.m. in our town, but neighboring town still had about an inch on the ground on fields that we drove by as we went to my daughter’s birthday party. I am so thankful that my little girl turned 12 this week. We celebrated all week with two parties and the grand finale skating party.
My husband has decided to participate in the American Cancer Society’s No Shave November. He is joining hundreds of thousands of men to raise awareness about prostate cancer. I couldn’t be more proud of his stubble and scratchy chin. I may join him, but my leg hair doesn’t grow these days because of menopause. I will post a weekly picture so that you can see his progress. I hope if you read this that you will join the cause. Lizzy is already trying to kick cancer’s ass; so, my husband is doing his part too.
I am also proud of my son who pastors a church in our area. I can’t go in to details becuase I don’t have his full blessing, and I don’t know when the full information will be released. I will say he announced today that he is being recognized by the Southern Baptist Convention soon. I hope to do another write up about. I am so proud of him.
We have had more than 45 people come to know Jesus in the last month because of special programs and our wonderful singing. The Lord is moving. I am so astounded at His grace and love that He is showing to our “little” church of about 250 members. When my son took over, we only had nine members attending.
Peace, good is so good to me. 🙂
