| Day 8 |
By Mary Hill
I am thankful that I can take artistic liberty and not do a numbered list. I just discovered this last week. For the first time, I am also dividing my 10 things into two posts for the weekend.
I will start by recalling my early morning start when I finished four loads of laundry and then my daughter went on her first trip without me to see The Kingdom Heirs in concert in Spartanburg. I was sad but happy when she left. She is growing up too quick. She went with the church choir of which she is a member.
We kept getting reports on her from her brother and sister throughout the night. It seems without mom, KR doesn’t eat too healthy. She ate one plate of macaroni and cheese at the Golden Corral and then proceeded to the dessert bar where she ate tons of marshmallows dipped in the chocolate fountain along with ice cream.
Then she went to the concert. She came back singing, There is a Remedy.

What a fun week you’ve had. I hope the date was gorgeous.
Sounds like your daughter had a great time! I don’t think I could have eaten so many chocolate-dipped marshmallows without feeling a bit queasy, but I suppose I might have at age 11!
That’s wonderful!! My 4 yr old daughter and I were singing spirituals together yesterday. 😉
I know you’re very proud of her. My son sings in his choir too and when he did a solo the whole church stood for him. It was because he sounds so little but still.
It seems that your daughter had a very “sweet” time at the Golden Corral. Nice to break out once in a while. Glad you’ve had a lot to celebrate, and more to come.
Hahaha on the marshmallows….if thats the worst that is awesome! She seems like such a sweet kid!
My son is 4, so I can’t imagine letting him go yet.
Numbered lists most certainly aren’t required.
It isn’t easy sending our kids off to become independent. Good for you, letting her fly. Even if it means lots of marshmallow consumption. :).
Looking forward to hearing about your date night!
5’7! She’s taller than me! Your daughter sounds like a delight and I’m glad she had fun.
I love this. I dream of having a daughter someday that loves the Lord openly and with a full heart! Congratulations on being a mom that has allowed her to bloom in this way!
