Share Your Story and His Gospel

March 11, 2016 By Mary Hill 10 Comments

Share the Gospel

I wanted to serve God in a special and glorious way.   I loved to write and share my writing and my story of how God continues to bless me even in the dark moments. I love to share His Gospel.

Share the Gospel

Hebrews 13: 16 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have,

for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

“God let me write for you I pray.”

God answered and said, “Yes.”

I heard it clear and loud. Yes.  My next prayer just as simple, “What do you want me to write, Lord?”

I can’t say in all honesty that I have heard an answer to that question. I heard the answer to my desire to write as service to Him, a simple, “Yes.”

That is where I am at as a writer at “Yes.”

I meander and write what I feel God is directing me to write for this day, unsure. Is this what He can use today to touch others?

Who am I to write for “Almighty God?”  I am just a simple woman.

But He said “Yes.”

So I write. I join blogging communities to share what I believe is His message for a particular day.

Kate is a leader at the Five Minute Friday community and she asked us to write about the word, “Share.”

How do we share? What does the Bible say about share?

In  Isaiah 58:7 ESV, He commands,

“Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?”

He confirms this as His will in Matthew 25:35-36 ESV

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’

Jesus also answered that question directly after He went to the Cross.  He stood on a mountainside His disciples watching Him. He instructed his Disciples, and now us, to go forth and share His Gospel unto the uttermost parts of the earth. Share His story and how it changed our lives.

We have a vehicle now to do just that. When we share our stories and blog posts about Jesus and His saving power, we fulfill His great commission.[tweetthis twitter_handles=”@MaryHill16″]When we share stories and posts about Jesus and His saving power, we fulfill His great commission.[/tweetthis]

How are your sharing His Gospel today?

WRITE. Every day in March write a slice of life story on your own blog. SHARE. Link your post in the comments on each daily call for slice of life stories here at TWT. GIVE. Comment on at least three other slice of life stories/blogs.This post is written for Day 11 of the March Slice of Life Story Challenge,  I will also join several of the hops listed on my Link-up Parties page.

I think whatever religion we follow at the end of the day, the power we believe in teaches us the same thing…To love and share, to care…I think as long as we share this message and live following it, the world becomes a better place and we are one step closer to the divine…

Mary, I think when we get to heaven we will fully understand the power of that sharing. Our stories may point someone we do not even know to Jesus. How amazing is that?!

Thanks for the challenge! God often doesn’t give the specifics when He calls us to do something. I think about how Abrham had to go even before He knew the final destination. He uses our willingness to follow. Thanks for SHARE-ing!

I so agree. He starts with obedience. He wants us to follow Him out love and worship. Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful. God calls us to be Jesus’ disciples in the world and share his Good News, doesn’t he? I love that the FMF community shares life together through our words. I’m in the #52 spot this week.

Your post and God’s word spoke directly into my heart tonight. After a week of wondering about my path for the upcoming school year, the truth in sharing our gifts for the Lord is exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you for bring His word into my space.

“When we share our stories and blog posts about Jesus and His saving power, we fulfill His great commission.” Mary, I love this post! I know God can use our words no matter how inadequate we think we may be. He takes the small and with His power uses it for His purposes. Blessings to you and keep writing! 🙂
