Review of A Special Christmas Tale By Debbie Macomber And Giveaway!

Welcome to my second blog book tour. I hope you are enjoying your wonderful fall season. It will not be long until we start dreaming of Christmas trees, shining lights, and snuggling by the fire with our significant other.  With the smells of cinammon and spice and dreams of white, cold nights, I read a special book that I want to share with you. 

Carrie Slayton is tired of her dead end job as a society reporter for a big Chicago paper. She wants to cover hard news and earn respect. She also wants to move back home to Seattle to be closer to her family, but she fears covering balls and charity events is not going to land her her dream job back home. She needs a big break. Her boss issues a challenge to get an interview with the elusive, but famous author of a survivalist memoir, Finn Dalton, and she can cover any news story she wants.  Finn doesn’t want to be found though and refuses to interview with any news outlet.  Carrie has work cut out for her, but she gets a break and finds Finn in the Alaskan wilderness. After a harrowing plane ride in a blizzard, she finds Finn, but he is not so keen on her finding him.  He also wants nothing to do with an interview.  

Sparks fly as the holiday season gets underway, and Carrie finds herself wishing for the gorgeous but infuriating author wrapped up in a bright red bow under her Christmas tree. The two, however, have nothing in common, and a lot of major trust issues to overcome. Plus, loving Finn might mean she will have to give up her dreams of becoming a big time news reporter. Will true love be a present wrapped up and delivered by Santa or is there a Scrooge waiting in the wings?

I loved this tale. It is not complicated, deep, profound literature.  “It is what, it is,” a good friend once told me. It’s a perfect novel for a cold, blistery night and a simple, sweet love story that you don’t have to think to deep about, just lose yourself and enjoy.
