Nature Flooding

January 20, 2016 By Mary Hill 10 Comments

We had a mini-flood in our neighborhood on the last day of 2015 and for the first of the year. Our flooding was nothing major like in the Midwest or earlier this fall in South Carolina from the Midlands to the Coast when flood waters covered whole neighborhoods, destroying homes and submerging whole neighborhoods.

We were fortunate in that we got to admire the power of nature as streams overrun their boundaries into the streets and water crested over bridges. No one lost property or life, however.

What can we learn from nature? [tweetthis twitter_handles=”@MaryHill16″]The beauty of Nature is a testimony to God’s grace. Her beauty shines through despite man’s fall.[/tweetthis] Even in disaster, we see her beauty.

We did see some minor street flooding with some homes standing in water in low lying areas.

I’m so glad to hear that no one lost property or were injured! I do agree though that your pictures capture the beauty of the flooding 🙂

Thank you for support. I know that flooding is much worse in the middle part of our country. I prayed for the residents there. I also gave thanks to God that he protected our community.

Flooding can devastate, but it does play a significant role in the ecosystem. Thanks for stopping by.
