My Thankfulness Prayer for My Home

November 20, 2017 By Mary Hill 2 Comments

Proverbs 24:3-4

Through wisdom, a home is built, and by understanding it is established;

by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

Today’s gratitude entry is about your favorite room in your home, but how can I just choose one when ….

My home is filled with

memories of happiness

From the kitchen where delicious smells filled the air as we laughed and baked together.

And my cat Perry, enjoyed sitting on the counter watching birds play in the snow.

To the dining room table, the scene for birthday parties and celebrations galore.

Then the dining room corner where my Christmas tree sits every year to bring in the holiday cheer.

And the living room sofa where many days are spent on computers working or on the couch watching movies.

My home is composed of many rooms where my lives of my family play out through the years.

Too many rooms make my home. There's no way to be thankful for just one. I'm thankful for them all.

This post also continues my special series celebrating gratitude. As we approach the Holy Season of Advent, first I fix my mind on thankfulness. Thankfulness is a state of being. It is part of the cross that we deliberately choose to pick up each day as we follow Christ. To celebrate Thankfulness, I have created a Fall Bible study and journey that I invite you to join with me.

As I write this series, I am also joining Jennifer Dukes Lee’s 30 Days of Gratitude Challenge. Her beautiful graphic below lists 30 daily gratitude topics on which I will try to base each day’s post this month. Note that some days I may switch up the topic if I feel in my spirit a need to do so.

Even though the posts will be short, I plan to pack them with inspiration and Scriptural truths as we lead up to the Thanksgiving holidays and then flow into Christmas. This series is my gift to you.

P.S. Don’t forget my ongoing promotion for Thanksgiving and add a little fun this year by playing a fun Thanksgiving Trivia Game sponsored by SC Johnson as part of their Happy ThanksGathering promotion with Daily Break.

    I can’t just pick one either! This is a beautiful reminder of all the memories I have in my own home.
