Christmas wrap gleams as the light from our rotating tree hits the crinkley paper. Hues of red, blue, and green shine on the walls. Treasures awaiting their soon to be owners; each one picked with care, hoping that they will be enjoyed for years to come. Gatherings planned and rescheduled, everyone remains flexible so all loved ones can share special times of food, fellowship, and hugs.
Christmas can be so busy, but I have had time to reflect on the reason for the season this month. I was blessed with wonderful stories that the Christmas spirit seemed to drop into my lap. My favorite was by far was “Lighting a Candle: A Poetic Story.” I am also proud that this post received the most comments from my readers. I cried too after writing and rereading it. Do you ever get moved by your own writings?
In the midst of the bustle and hustle, I have met many more blogger friends on two hops that I am helping to host: the Weekend Wind Down Party and Book Musing Mondays. The hops are inspirational and fun. I hope you will check them out in the New Year.
My health has slowed me down, a little. I want to overcome my arthritis and concentrate on my health and weight issues in the New Year. I know I have a foundation of friends on the hops I join on the weekend who will pray me on, especially, the 10 Things Thankful crowd.
I feel like the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland. I am almost too late to post, but I am going to finish this week. I started several posts in prior weeks but did not get them completed. My daughter was sick too. Her holiday from school got extended from two weeks to three. She missed the last week of school before the break. We are on the mend though.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year. I will take a short blogging break starting Christmas Eve and lasting through January 4. I will schedule one last Book Musing Mondays party for 2014 on December 29. I would love for you to stop by and link up your family-friendly literacy related posts. Maybe you could write about your reading goals for 2015.

Thanks for sharing this at Good Morning Mondays. I hope you can work on the things you need to in the New Year, I also want to work on my health and pray that with our connections we can work together to be the best we can be. I hope you had a blessed Christmas with your family.

I love the idea of taking time to list out 10 things to be thankful for – I keep trying to do this in a notebook like the 1000 Gifts… I just always find my notebook is never close when I have a thankful thought!! 🙂 I need to work on that for the new year!

Oh, I’m so sorry that you and your daughter have been ill! It’s so hard when it’s around vacation time (especially Christmas). Have a wonderful rest of your vacation and enjoy all of those special family moments :).
