#LMMLinkup: Power in Prayer

February 17, 2020 By Mary Hill 9 Comments

Lately, I have struggled with faith and the problems of this world. I am angry about homelessness, the plight of those suffering in poverty, politics, and the list grows and includes personal issues at home.

Prayer is the key to all these issues. We all have a powerful tool at our disposal if we choose to use it. We can pray daily for our nation, our communities, and families.

Last night, we had a special group perform at my son’s church: 11th Hour. They sang a powerful song that rekindled my desire to open my heart and pray. Will you pray with me?

Next, lets review last week’s linkup.

IS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE EVEN POSSIBLE?

I stood outside the door as I often did .- trying to prepare myself. Pondering, “Had I made a mistake?" Is unconditional love even possible?

By Maree Dee at Embracing the Unexpected

I stood outside the door as I often did - trying to prepare myself for what was to occur. Pondering, “Had I made a mistake, was I wrong to come yet again?” Was I even capable of unconditional love?

Maree poses a heart-felt question with a surprising answer. Be sure to check out her post.

“Why do trees lose their leaves? What makes the snowfall? How high is the moon? Can I touch it? What makes those tracks in the snow? Why is the sky blue?”

Gayl encourages each of us to remember that curiosity is essential for child development. Be sure to check out this post.

Mary, I wonder why when we have the privilege of coming into the throne room of God and praying to the Creator of the Universe that we don’t do it more! I constantly feel I fall short in this area. Thanks for reminding us of just how important it is.

    Dear Mary,
Oh yes, there are so many situations around the world and in my own life that fill me with grief also. And it is in that grief that I realize those very feelings are God’s call to me to join Him in HIS grief and intercession. Thank you for stirring and inviting us to join you in prayer dear sister!

There are so many huge problems beyond our capability to handle. I’m so thankful we can tell God about them and then do whatever little part He wants us to.

When I experience first hand the benefit I get from time in prayer, it is crazy to me that I don’t spend more time with it.

Mary, what a joy and surprise to find that you chose my post as your favorite one! Thank you so much. I hope I am back to writing more regularly on my blog so I can continue to share and enjoy your linkup.

And oh how I agree that prayer is so important. Without it I would not know where to take my troubles or my praise to God for all His gifts and love and blessings. But also He hears the prayers of the afflicted. He knows what’s going on in the world. Nothing can thwart His purposes even when things look bad. I’m glad He’s given us the ability to pray and talk to Him in that way.

Blessings and love to you, dear Mary. xo
