Hebrews 12:2
Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
I love to tell the story of how I came to know Jesus.
Five years old and tired after helping my mother plant some flowers at the road. We laughed and had fun. Mom took the fun away when she told me to take the trash can back up to the house.
Hot and bothered, I lugged it to the carport.
Angrily, I started to kick it. She could have done this my five-year-old self must have felt.
I went into the house and my mom greeted me at the door.
“You know Jesus was watching you kick that trash can and being bad.” she told me.
I retorted without thinking, “No, he is not. He is dead.”
My mother then drew me to the coffee table and we sat down together.
“Jesus is not dead. He died on the cross, yes. But that is not the whole story. You see three days later he rose again and went to heaven. He died for you and me so that we can be saved. He died so you can find forgiveness when you do bad things like kicking that can because you were mad at me.” She explained.
She then lead me in a prayer that I did not fully understand at the time. We prayed Jesus would forgive me for my anger and come into my heart.
I repeated that prayer several times in my childhood. I went up for altar calls and got saved over and over again. I was baptized when I was seven.
I did not fully comprehend the Gospel until my teens when God revealed Himself fully to me. I went through baptism again to testify of His love for me and that I had rededicated my life to Him.
I worship a powerful God. He saw me sitting in my living room accepting Him and asking for His forgiveness on that cross thousands of years ago. He know me from the beginning of time.
He knew you too. He knew the story of your life and the decision that you will make.
Will you let Him write His story on your heart today?
He waits with outstretched hands for you.
He wants to wrap His arms around you and heal your hurts.
He wants to be the author of your future. To give you hope and show you the greatest love you ever knew.
Will you accept Him?
Pray with me.
“Dear Lord, come into my heart. Forgive me of my sins. From this moment on I want you to be the author of my life and write my story anew. I accept you as my personal savior.”
How has God been the author of your life? Please share your responses in the comment section below.

This is wonderful. I have read through quite a few of the FMF posts today (and they are encouraging and inspiring) but not one other blogger chose to share their salvation story (including me). Sigh. What a wonderful opportunity to tell the greatest story we could ever share! I accepted Christ as a 12 year old pre-teen girl. Many chapters have been written in my story since then but nothing compares to my salvation story. Thank you so much for sharing!
Your neighbor this week at FMF –
I love this song by Francesca Batestelli!
What a precious legacy this story tells. Love it.

This is beautiful Mary! I too ‘got saved over and over again’ as I gained a better understanding of what that was. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful story, Mary! God loves us unconditionally and we can come to him over and over again with all of our burdens and sorrows and desperate cries for forgiveness. The beauty of our Father, Creator, and God!
