Imagine A World Where We Can Love

April 13, 2016 By Mary Hill 6 Comments

I is for Imagine

Imagine a World Where We Hear and Answer the Cry of the Poor

Imagine: John Lennon asked us years ago to imagine a world where there is no heaven, no religion, and no countries or possessions to kill or die for.  This song’s beauty and simplicity is that it paints a picture of the world that Christ calls us to create.

[tweetthis url=”https://www.maryanderingcreatively.com/imagine-a-world-where/”]Christ wants a world where people die to self ambition and live “second mile” love. [/tweetthis]

He encourages us in sermons and by His actions to :

Imagine a World Where

We hear the cry of the poor  and care for our downtrodden, poor, orphans, and widows.

If a brother sues you for a shirt, out of love you give him a coat too.

If a soldier forces you to carry his pack for one mile; out of love you carry it for two.

Country leaders turn the other cheek rather than send young men to die in wars supposedly about security but more about corporate profits.

The hungry enter fields to gather the gleanings of grain and produce forgotten on purpose for the poor as commanded by Jehovah in the Bible‘s model of tzedakah (social justice and support), and where the poor can also gather what they need to eat from the corners of the fields (pe’ah).

Leviticus 19:9-11

We love each other in holy ways of self-sacrifice and realness with no lies or pretenses.

Instead of killing each other we would die for each other.

Sin and selfishness is defeated.  Love reigns supreme and the human race meets a loving God and He restores us to Eden.

To bring the world and heaven together, Christ spread His arm on a Cross. He lived that perfect sacrifice for you and me.

[tweetthis url=”https://www.maryanderingcreatively.com/imagine-a-world-where/”]Now imagine a world where we all believe in and act upon Jesus’s love and His words.[/tweetthis]

Mary, I’m afraid that world will never be on this earth until Jesus Christ Himself comes to gather His church and begins the Millennial Kingdom and after that will once and for all cast Satan into the bottomless pit of the great abyss and we begin our eternity in our heavenly home.
