I sink into a stormy, dark sea. Storms blowing around me; the wind and cold rain buffeting my skin like sharp knives. I am afraid, until I see you Lord walking through the midst of storm, arms outstretched offering me a hand.
You have never forsaken me in the deep waters. You lead me through storms and calamity.
He awaits you too. What storms do you face today? What deep dark chasm is trying to swallow you whole?
God is your rescue. He stretches His arms to you. Grab them. Let Him pull you from the deep. Let Him save you and uplift you.
You may wonder how? How do I accept God’s love in my life when I feel like I am mired in a deep pit?
First, you realize that no matter what storms you face, others have thread their ways to victory. You take hope in other’s testimonies of success. You don’t dare to compare and feel less, but realize that God loves you too and wants to rescue you out of the deep and bring you into His glory and love.
Next, you develop a prayer habit. Refuse to let a day pass where you are not in constant prayer and thanksgiving.
Finally praise your way of the deep. Remember a few posts ago, I shared how Paul’s praises in jail caused an earthquake which released him from his chains. Praise can also lift us out of any deep chasms or problems we face.
How do you call out to God when you are in deep, stormy waters?
This post is written for the Five Minute Friday Community. I will also linkup with many fun blog parties listed on my Linkup Parties page.
This is beautiful! Reminds me of the somewhat overplayed, but still powerful song, “Oceans” (I like Rend Collectives version). When I feel like I am drowning, I recite and follow Philippians 4:4-7. Rejoice, pray, give thanks. Thank you for joining the Friday Fellowship Link Up!

He’s pulled me out of many a deep water! “NEVER SAY AMEN.”
“How do I accept God’s love in my life when I feel like I am mired in a deep pit?” Often it’s in the pit that we realize we have no choice but to accept God’s love. So thankful God is faithful! FMF17
