Bible study can be such a mystery at times. Where do we start and how do we tie it into our everyday lives? I have tried to read through the Bible many times in my life too, but found just reading the Bible difficult. How do we discern and learn from Scripture?
One thing that I have found that helps is to read my Bible in concert with a devotional. A good devotional like Rose Chandler Johnson’s God, Me And Sweet Tea can provide a framework for your Bible study time. You can also find inspirational stories that make you cry and smile while also learning Scripture and studying the Bible.
Mrs. Johnson devotional is arranged by topic with a great Table of Contents. You can start at page one or scan the topics of each featured devotional in her book and decide which one better fits you for the day.
I also loved the useful Journal Considerations sections which pose great questions based on the Scripture reading for the day plus leaves you some writing room to jot down thoughts. I also liked I how she closes each day’s devotion with a specific prayer that you can pray at the end.
I loved the title. Sweet tea remains my favorite drink of all times. I also love the cozy feeling of this book. It’s like reading a letter from a best friend. I highly recommend this devotional and hope you will check it out!

Thanks so much Mary for your review. What a nice thing to say – I’m glad it seemed like a letter from a good friend. I appreciate your kind words as well Traci. Now if only we all could just sit down together and enjoy some sweet iced tea while we talk about these things. 🙂

This book sounds so good. I like these companion pieces to reading the Bible as well. Southern charm is just so charming, isn’t it?!
