Jesus called us to love our neighbors. He proclaimed in Luke 10:27
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
When our neighbors are in pain will we answer the call?
When our neighbors suffer calamity will we respond with love and help?
The storm winds blow and flood waters rise, but together we are greater than the storm. We can help and show love to neighbors in trouble.
It is even more crucial as we watch the horrible scenes unfold in Houston.
We need to stand firm in prayer for the victims. Lifting them up to Him daily with all our heart. As other storms threaten, we need to pray for God to spare our country a major disaster that will bring calamity for even more neighbors.
We also need to put action behind our prayers, give as much as we can.

Psalm 29:10-11
The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord sits enthroned as king forever. May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace!

Hearts and prayers to the victims. And I thank those who reached out and helped in every way they can.

Lux, thanks so much for praying in agreement with me.
Beautiful!
Thank you.
Such a beautiful post, Mary. You’re right. When we look beyond ourselves, and we see the needs of others, God can use us to reflect His love to those around us. And you’re so right. We must not underestimate the power of prayer, especially in times like what we’ve seen in Texas and the South over the past couple of weeks.
Thank you for your reminders!
Thank you. I am still praying even today. We have another storm we need to come together and pray that Irma stays out to sea.
