I am feeling lost in the world
Floundering, wondering my next move
In my desire of creating legacy
Writing, blogging, or poetry
Photography
Do I focus on one area.
Right now I meander thus my blog title
The blogging world is so big, and I have wanderlust,
but I want to invite others
I want to broadcast love and hope
That has been my focus all along
I still wonder the best route …
I know you will see some immediate changes. I am scared to make them
Second guessing
Where are you in your travels?
The world is too big but even smaller than ever. Such a puzzle.
We can reach across timelines and meet people worlds away.
How do we harness this for great things?
I want to save the world. What about you?

This prompt is timely because I am on a quest for new direction. How to I impact the most people for the Gospel? How do I reach others with the message of hope and love? Is my blog having an impact?
I have joined some challenges this week including Natalie Sisson’s 15 Day Blogging Challenge. This challenge is more for small business or entrepreneurs. I am not trying to build a brand or sale a product. I can’t even travel the world. My goal is to increase my audience so I can reach more people and travel the world virtually. I also signed up for Paige Taylor’s free Blog Smarter Course for Freelancer Writers.
Next, I am thinking about shedding some things on this blog. No more product reviews. I like free stuff and have made a whole $60 in two years. I know some folks are making money doing this, but really what is my core mission: reaching others with love and hope.
The only reason I try to make a little money with blogging is because I need to pay blog expenses each year such as my blog domain fees, Inlinkz fees, etc., and I want to go at least one conference a year. I want to do this with blogging income and not household income. Make sense?
So here is what I need from my readers, especially bloggers. Where are you at in your blogging journey? Why do you blog? Am I off base? Any feedback in the comments greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there, and thanks for joining in with Wednesday Wit and Wisdom. I have only been at this for a year and a couple of months, but I really enjoy traveling the world and see what others are interested in and publishing on a blog. I have found that in whatever writing I do, whether blogging or publishing a book, one can’t be in it for the money. Have a special day.

Hi Mary, very deep reflections. I love self examinations too. What is my direction , purpose and scope of my blogging? I examine my self too so I cut down excesses.
I focus on devotional writing, I love reading so I do book reviews and interview the authors.
I can’t do everything but I enjoy what I do and do it all for God’s glory.
This is thoughtful, I am glad meeting you!
I love your sincerity and openness in your writing.
May God meet you and fill your desire to serve him wholly.

I think we all re-evaluate the purpose and direction of our blogs now and then. I used to write a much more personal blog, maybe too much so, and yet now I long for more time to write more posts from a personal perspective. I love your desire to reach people with the love and hope of the Gospel. For me, I respond best to personal, heartfelt messages and stories, rather than straight-out preaching. When you share what you are going thru and where you find your sense of hope and direction, it makes me think about how that might be a path for me to explore as well. I am confident that you will find a blog path that feels just right, and those who are meant to come will surely come. It’s not about the numbers that are reached, it’s about reaching the ones that God intends you to reach. <3

Sometimes you have to wander and wonder a bit to find your place in blogging or in life. I have two blogs; Patricia’s Place and Day of Grace. Patricia’s Place is just fun for me. I write stories and poems, talk about my life and my cats. Day of Grace is my mission. It started out as essays on my journey and has evolved into a devotional with an occasional essay. I have comments closed on Day of Grace because they became distracting to me. I loved the comments, but they became my focus…how many comments I got. So they had to go. Maybe I will open them again but for now the Spirit says “just write the devotions and trust Me that they will be read”.
I don’t make money on either…never tried or intend to…I just blog because I want to. I will continue until I don’t want to write anymore.
I look forward to seeing where your wanderings and wonderings will take you.

Loved the poetic approach. I have been blogging off and on for a while now and Mapetite’s Masala Mix is for my personal stuff. I have been doing a little bit about my phD journey on my PhD Talk blog as well. However, I am getting ready to begin a new career as a freelancer, so I am using the 15 Day Challenge is to establish a rhythm so when I am ready to launch, at least that will be in place 😉

I’m feeling pretty lost at the moment!
-I’m working as a carer, but want to be an author- it’s so hard trying to get yourself ‘out there.’
I so feel you. I’ve not made a dime off of my blog, but went self-hosted this year and have invested some money. I would like to at least be able to cover my expenses, but I’m not a business. I hear the word ‘monetize’ and cringe.
I want to encourage, inspire, lead others to Jesus. Yes, I’d like to publish a book eventually. Yes, I’m hoping to book speaking engagements. But to sell? Eh.
Blessings as you reflect,

I feel a bit lost at the moment.
I’ve just finished writing my novel, “The Defeatist” and I’m currently in-between projects. I understand where you’re coming from!
Hey Mary, visiting from FMF. I can relate to your questions, sometimes you can feel quite lost in the blogging world. There are always more successful people out there. But already said it, you want to spread love and grace. This goes for 1, 50, 400 readers…And don’t underestimate what your writing does to your own soul!
Keep writing and trusting.

I completely understand. Once you find your mission, stick to it! Do whatever you can to achieve it. If you are feeling led down one path, follow that! God will be there!
