It is Five Minute Friday time: time to let my hands dance on the keyboard or talk into my microphone for 5 minutes solid. Just write what comes out based on a single word prompt provided by our event organizer, Kate Motaung. This exercise is about more than just writing. It is also about community. Once you have written your five-minute piece, you then link up with hundreds of other bloggers on Kate’s Five Minute Friday link up page. Then as writers, we share the love and visit each others’ post and give supportive feedbac
Today’s word is Notice.
Moms go unrewarded, unloved, un-everything. No one notices the small victories like an empty clothes hamper, a swept floor, or scrubbed bathroom. You seem to go through the motions. Get kids up, take to school, pickup, make beds, dust, sweep, plan dinners, type, blog, read emails. Life keeps going. If you didn’t publish another blog post would anyone notice?
What are we doing this for anyway? Ourselves? Trying to become the next great blogger with 10,000 a day page views and readers? To make money to buy more stuff? You have to look at the real motivations to succeed. I want to accomplish some of this to be honest, but there is something deeper driving me.
If I was blogging for pageviews and money, however, I would have quit a long time ago. There is something that keeps me coming back and typing out my soul. It is not an elusive dream for fame or money. It is a dream that someone reading my blog posts will bow her head and ask God to take over and be Lord of her life. That is the crux. That is why I blog.
Why do you blog? Do you blog for Christ too? What are your goals for blogging as we approach a new year?

Mary this is great! I could resonate with so much of what you said. Glad I came to check it out. I’m stopping by from FMF 🙂
