Five Minute Friday : Grace

November 1, 2013 By Mary Hill 6 Comments

Five Minute Friday  By Mary Hill

11:35

I walked through this field of cotton last weekend. I pulled over for five minutes on the way to retrieve my daughter from a slumber party.  The morning air was crisp and clean.  A field of white greeted me and in the midst was this tree. Beautifully standing there with its arms stretched up toward heaven.

I didn’t think about that cotton field in relation to grace until I saw the prompt. So crisp and clean and beautiful. Fluffy balls that hung from brown dried out stems, waiting to be picked and transformed into something more. Cotton, simple white cotton.

Grace is a lot like cotton. It comes in and turns our dark hearts  into whiteness. Sheds hope in every corner.  Lights up our lives like the field illuminated for me that morning. Simple concept. Simplicity white cotton. Grace. Love abounds in us all because of a man that died on a tree.

Though our sins were like scarlet He through His grace washed them white as snow or I think we could put cotton. Do you know His transforming love that can cleanse and create in you a new, beautiful creation. Cotton can be woven and dyed and transformed into clothing that blots out all your hurts and failures. Put yourself in the hands of the Master Weaver; accept His grace.

I love how you compare cotton to grace. Taking time to acknowledge God’s grace is time well spent.
