Time for my favorite post of the week: 5 Minute Friday. What is this blog hop all about:
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community.
Today’s word: Encouragement
“If you don’t have something good to say, it is best not to say anything at all.”
Do unto others as we would have done unto ourselves.
Have you found yourself starving for kind words? I have and they are like a hidden treasure that you have to hunt down. We are so busy; we don’t have time to be kind to each other. To take a minute and think on the good, the lovely, the pure in each other.
God made us in His image. He love us and commands us to love one another. AGAPE love that seeks out to be the first to tell our sisters you are a wonderful creation, fashioned for God’s glory. He wants to shine out through you: hope, love, and peace. A peace that passes all understanding.
You never know what gift and blessing a simple word can bring to that someone hurting and alone. Reach out today. The customer service lady who you want to lash out at because things aren’t going your way, and it is so unfair that you are facing such inconvenience or even real heart break. Instead of railing try loving, kind words. Words that blanket the other person in love and peace.
It is easier said than done; I know. But it really is better for you to take a breath and breathe love not stress and hate. Breathe out words of hope and encouragement today.
8:42
A song for your day and to bring encouragement, no matter what you are facing.
This is a daily struggle for me. I love your words of grace-filled encouragement here.
Thanks for sharing at Essential Fridays.

To “reach out today” is really all it takes to bring light, hope and encouragement into the life of another. It sounds so simple yet can produce amazing results. Mary, you reached out to encourage my FMF efforts and I have been really blessed to have found a new friend through your kindness. “Give and it will be given to you” is how we are meant to live. You are living and breathing this truth. God bless you! 🙂 xx PS:I love the video clip too. Such beautiful soulful singing!
I loved Bambi. Thumper said it the best ever. I should have put a clip of that in my post. 🙂
That is so true we don’t often realize how a word of encouragement can mean so much to someone.
I try and live by the if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything rule, but by golly it’s hard as I don’t suffer fools gladly. I’ll try harder.

True, all true. Thanks for the encouragement!
I love that first statement, but I always hear it in the voice of Thumper from the movie Bambi. That’s also a very beautiful song. Thank you for sharing it.

Love that! “take a minute and think on the good, the pure and the lovely in each other.” What a beautiful application of that verse- to point it toward others! Bless you today- you have blessed me with your post!
Found you on fmf
That is why I love 5 Minute Friday. It brings out the best in all of us. We can dig deeper and write pure.
Words can never be taken back. God has warned through the bible of the dangers of the tongue. We should always be considerate in what we say and if not pray it was for the right reasons. Glad you shared your thoughts today Mary.
Thanks my friend. You are always here to encourage me. I so appreciate you.
