Altar
Original Poem by Mary Hill
Genesis 12:8He also built an altar to the LORD there and worshiped the LORD.

Come Brethen and Sisters
The Altar of the Lord awaits
A place to sojourn in a holy seeking
Finding Jesus.
Touching the hem of his garment
Reaching out in faith
Tear stained floors and carpet.
Weeping in shame,
Weeping in Joy.
Bearing burdens,
Bearing love
Laying it all down
Leaving it at His feet
At God’s Holy Altar
The busiest place in your church: the altar?
This post is my third installment in both both the 31 Days online writing challenge started by home blogger, Myquillyn Smith (The Nester) and Kate Motaung’s 31-Day Five Minute Writing Challenge.

Glad I found your blog! I too love to write…poetry, short-stories, you name it! The above poem is beautiful! Thanks for sharing! My topic is much heavier…Being a Daughter: 31 days of Mental Illness. I’ve written some poems for and about my mom so I might have to share those for a post! Blessings as you participate in the #write31days challenge.
