Day 1 of 31 Days: The Word

October 1, 2014 By Mary Hill 3 Comments

By Mary Hill
Opening the concordance of a Bible is so inspirational to me. Words tied to scriptures bring freedom and impart deep knowledge. I sometimes just look in the concordance to look at the words there and marvel at their meanings.

Words are powerful, sharper than any two edged sword; they can bring life; they can bring death. Their magic imparts when they are breathed or spoken into the air; the voice speaks them into existence and their meaning pierces deep into the heart.

Words abide in our minds and hearts.  John 1:1 is a poem.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

1 John 1:1 further shows the power of the very Word of God.

“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of Life.”

According to Isaiah 40:8 “The grass wither, the flower fades: but the Word of our God shall stand for ever.”

Kari Jobe — You Are For Me

“And I know that You have come now
Even if to write upon my heart
To remind me who You are”

Your My Word
Original Poem by Mary Hill

Word of Life come down
Bring salvation in your decrees
Love in your actions.
Your words declare you King
The Great I Am.

Come Jesus, speak your words quietly
in my ear.
Let them emcompass me with their warmth of degrees, immeasurable.
Your words are Your Holy Essence
They were spoken to save humanity.
They were spoken to save … even me.
