Coming Off the Conference High

October 26, 2014 By Mary Hill 14 Comments

It is hard to believe that the Allume Conference is over. I am experiencing the post conference buzz when my head is so full of information that it is going to take some quiet time just to process it all. This post will be my first of many revisits and reflections about the conference. I came away with a lot to be thankful for.

1.  My head is exploding with all the information that I gained through this conference. From the keynote sessions to the workshops, I gained several notebooks full of information about blogging and growing community.

2. I met some great people.  I have put up these great ladies cards and will come back and add links to their great blogs later.

Alia has a great blog. Check her out at http://narrowpathstohigherplaces.com.

I also had some great roommates:  Jennifer Sheran at Sheran Memories;  Jennifer Mleczynski at Jen Writes; and Mary Denman at MaryDenman.blogspot.com.

3.  I learned about a lot of great organizations that are spreading hope and the Gospel through acts of love and kindness. I will share more on these later this week.
4. The music was just awesome.
5.  I got to meet a book agent with a literary agency. I made her tearied eyed with my poem and my book proposal. I have alot of polishing to accomplish on it before it is ready, but I am going to move forward with my book now that I have affirmation about it from a professional.
6.  The food was just plain pinnable. We had some great desserts, coffee and meals.

7.   I have directions and new focus with my blog now.
8. I am also migrating to WordPress.  Notice that my url is a lot easier: www.maryanderingcreatively.com.  The 1o Things Thankful crowd get a first look at my new digs.
9.  I loved the theme of the Allume conference:  fostering Jesus hospitality.  The central question: How do we make our online spaces opens door to the world that invite others to come in to meet Christ.  This theme will influence a lot at Mary-andering Creatively over the next few weeks and months.
10.  The most important impact of the conference was the time I got to spend drawing closer to Jesus.  You will see a lot more this week about the conference so stay tuned.
Love Ya’ll in Christ!

I’m glad you enjoyed the conference, but I have to say, I am completely distracted by those cupcakes. Coconut?

It sounds like you had a great time. I’ve never been to a blogging conference, but it seems like everyone who has, has really enjoyed it.
