Abide
John 15:4
Abide in me,and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself except it abide in the vine,
no more can ye except you
abide in me.
Abiding in Christ is likened unto abiding in a vine. The vine beareth sweet, delicious fruit that sustains and helps it grow in maturity and beauty.
Abiding brings succulence, making the vine more beautiful, sweet and lovely. We abide in Christ by reading His word and praying.

A young olive tree grows in an ancient orchard.
Unfurling her leaves, she stretches toward the sun.
Sweet rains of the Spirit leave her glistening.
Dark soil makes her roots dig deeper into His love and the Word.
Even when worms of doubt threatens
Abiding in His place of love strengthens.
Even when darkness and thunder crash in the night,
Abiding in the His grove
Brings refuge.
When sin and shame attempt to bow her over,
Abiding brings forgivness and new vigor.
When disease attempts to attack and kill,
Abiding in His truth
brings beauty and lushness
Abiding brings salvation

What a beautiful poem and reminder to abide in Him. Thank you for sharing!
Abiding… yes! Some days it’s harder to do than others and I have to be intentional. It’s a practice of faith and patience, that’s for sure! What a lovely reminder and poem.
Thanks for sharing and linking up to the #SHINEbloghop.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.

Abiding also means waiting, not always knowing the answer, trusting that truth will come. Abiding in the knowledge that God is present.
Margaret,
So true, abiding also builds faith. Thanks for sharing.
Abide brings to mind: belief, comfort safety, and faith. The poem you wrote was beautiful and let me think of the reward of perseverance. Wonderful post Mary.
I’m so glad you linked up today, Mary! What a beautiful photo and poem! I love trees – I think they have a spiritual aura, so I connected to this analogy.
