Ifeoma Samuel’s Book Gives Hope For Overcoming Failure

August 16, 2016 By Mary Hill 5 Comments

Even in the most trying times, I can and have overcome failure.

Ifeoma Samuel has written a guide to overcoming failure. She brings sparks of hope while savoring Biblical truths that shatter the shackles of the enemy.

He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
Ecclesiastes 3:11

beauty of life's journey, overcoming failure

Mistakes and failures serve as major turning points in my life.

More than 30 years ago, I married a man who deserted me in a dessert. Then, almost 29 years ago, I made another huge mistake. I trusted a man with my life and heart. I entered marriage without really seeking God’s will concerning my relationship.

He seemed so handsome, sweet, and loving: a poet, writer, and artist. I believed in his love for me.

Soon after, our marriage started the violence and abuse began. I felt betrayed, hurt, and all alone. I lived in this marriage for 12 years despite several instances of the abuse.

My choices to marry these men painted a portrait of a young woman looking for love. I needed and craved completion.

I walked pass my Savior whom I should have looked toward first for completion.

I know the struggle to overcome failure firsthand. I wish my friend and inspirational writer, Ifeoma Samuel, had known me and been on my side then. Ifeoma has written an incredible devotional book : Overcome Failure: Get Back on Your Feet. I know that if I had read through this book during those trials, my outcomes would have been different and my focus adverted from finding love in men to realizing the amazing power of God’s love.

Edited by another dear friend, Michele Morin of the blog, Living Our Days, Ifeoma’s book if full with devotionals which guide us through our failures and our fears by helping us focus on His Love.

I wish I had this book the week my last marriage fell apart when I realized I had to flee the darkness and danger my husband represented. This truths from Ifeoma’s book resonate with me, and I know would have encouraged me during my times of failure:

The Lord is with you, and He is more than any

life battle you are facing or will ever face. (p. 28)

I have lived this truth, and I know failure and times of falling will fill my future. Life happens and I know even if I walk as close as I can with Him, troubled times will come. This time, however, I have a life-manual, His Word and a library of help books to see me through.

The Bible is all a main focus of Ifeoma’s book. It is filled with the true stories of men and women in the Bible that faced failure just like we do. She includes in-depth scriptural references to help you draw closer to Jesus.

Ifeoma’s book will join my library that has grown over the past years as a Christian book review blogger.

    Mary,
Thank you for sharing your heart and testimony. I, too, didn’t recognize the love of Jesus before getting hurt and making poor choices. I am thankful that we both met Jesus and embraced His love. I pray each woman with that hole in her heart opens her eyes to seeing the Jesus who redeems and loves completely!

Thank you for partnering with me and sharing hope at #MomentsofHope!
    Blessings,
    Lori

Ifeoma, I recognize the patterns for I have been one who was looking for love in all…all the wrong places too. Taking me through much of my life was confusion and disappointment and self-deprecation until I finally met Jesus at age 45. I also met my precious husband of 23+ years now. Praising God for His mercy. Your book will help and guide many women through the darkness. Thanks for this.
