No Greater Love and Devotion Exist
The momma bird screeches and takes off from her small nest of eggs that she lovingly protects with such devotion. My husband approaches with caution as he tries to get to his truck. She nosedives at him, furiously.
“She has been doing this all week. Why she would lay her eggs in the middle of a parking lot?” He asks me.
I approach amazed as she lands back on her tiny eggs that blended into the surrounding gravel. “They are perfectly camouflaged,” I think.
“She is so beautiful!” I exclaim. Then I talk to the bird, “You are such a beautiful, wonderful momma.”
She continues to screech, flapping her wings at me.
“Don’t get too close or she will attack you,” my husband says.
I want to pick her up and give her a loving kiss, but I left her alone to care for her nest. I pray for God’s protection over her and her future family.
Jesus devotion stretches through all time. He loves us with such a ferocity that is unmatched. His will is that none should perish but that all come to know Him and repent of their sins (2 Peter 3:9).
