Answer the Call: My People Repent, Pray, and Praise

November 10, 2016 By Mary Hill 1 Comment

Answer the Call

As American Christian women, we need to answer the call at the end of this election season.

I watched with dismay last night as the Socialist agenda hit American streets. A group called Socialist Alternative organized rallies nationwide and tried to feed on fears just like President Elect Donald Trump did during his election campaign.

We, Christian women, need to change the narrative. Repentance, prayer, and worship is what we as Americans need today. I call upon all churches to answer the protests with revival and love. Replace the protest with Gospel groups setting up on the streets and praising God. A majority of Americans did not elect Trump. That is the reality. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, but not the Electoral College.

More Americans wanted her to be president than Trump. I DID NOT VOTE FOR EITHER. I voted for Evan McMullin. I am not a Clinton or Trump Supporter. Trump is our elected president and deserves our respect, period. I accept that and offer my respect, prayers, and obedience to him as the Bible requires.

Trump, however, fed into an angst in America. He built his base in part on hate. I am sorry but that is the reality.

Everyone was angry when Clinton claimed “half” of his supporters were in a basket of deplorables. The number may have been less than a fourth, but he was supported by haters. The KKK endorsed him. Nazi groups voted for him. To his credit, HE REJECTED THEIR SUPPORT.

I return to a biblical principal in this instance. Galation 5:9 states:

9 A little leaven [a slight inclination to error, or a few false teachers] leavens the whole batch

[it perverts the concept of faith and misleads the church]

Buried in Trumps message was a little leaven that perverted and took over his campaign. His message radiated with haters that we need to make their America great again for them. They grabbed that message and unfortunately many feel that the message did not include minorities and women.

His hate spewed words resonate in my mind. He talked about violence against women that because he was a star he could do anything he wanted to do to us. Those are the facts.

Trump has a responsibility to compromise now and to reach out to those he excluded from his camp. He needs to repent about the parts of his campaign rhetoric that spewed hate.  I have heard that he became a Christian during the campaign, but I ask you to listen to this interview below:

He says he does not ask for forgiveness but tries to make things right. I hope instead he has asked for forgiveness with his whole heart. If Trump is now a Christian, he needs to take the time to call for pubic prayer and proclaim Christ now.

I hope Trump asked for forgiveness of his sins and accepted Christ Click To Tweet

Instead of protest, I call upon the gospel groups of America to take to the streets and give free worship concerts.

I call upon preachers to set up rallies for Christ.

Our salvation and making America great again is not about Trump: it is about Christ. Click To Tweet

Let’s put Christ at the center of our thoughts.

As Trump sets up his transition, he should call upon the pastors of our country to pray for our country.

As we move forward, we as a nation need to accept Christ’s call to prayer, reconciliation, and repentance on all sides. Then, we need to move into a season of Thanksgiving for a God who will continue to bless our nation as long as those of us believe espouse his Gospel and Truth.

As a Christian women blogger, I am calling on all women bloggers to echo and trumpet my call for revival in America and to organize their churches for a great revival during the month of Thanksgiving and November.

All Christian women bloggers echo this call for revival in America. Click To Tweet

I did not support Trump, but I recognize that God is in control. We need to turn our hearts as a nation back to Christ. He is our answer. He is our way to the future.

The responsibility does not rest with the Trump camp to save America and revive our nation. It is the responsibility of the U.S. church. We as a holy people need to replace the protest with praise and thanksgiving.

Remember: Christ is the ultimate answer for America.

You are brave to blog about who you voted for. You’re certainly right, though, that we need to pray for our country!
