Angel on Assignment : God Created Angels to Guard You and Me!

October 10, 2017 By Mary Hill 2 Comments

PSALM 91:11

For He shall give His angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways.

As the Christmas season approaches and the hustle and bustle associated, I wanted to share a great book that can bring special meaning to the Holy Season for children everywhere: Angel on Assignment by Wanda Carter Roush which is so beautifully illustrated by Mike Motz.

The author fills this book with beautiful poetic words about how God assigns a special angel to watch over each one of us.

She starts by sharing the important role that Angels took in the birth of Jesus. They were holy messengers come to earth to herald His holy birth.

Wanda then narrates how Angels have existed throughout history and are still very present today.

You will treasure this book with your children for years to come as Wanda reminds us that:

“When angels come from Heaven above,/ Their assignment is wrapped in God’s love.”

Wanda also shares a special activity you can do with your child after reading the book. You can create your own angel to remind you of the Biblical truths about Angels which include:

  • When you pray to God, Angels are dispatched on a mission to carry out His wishes.
  • They are strangers unaware.
  • Angels are the messengers of God who bring hope to mankind of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • They heralded His coming by visiting both Mary and Joseph. Later they brought the news to shepherds in the field.

She also teaches that each of can serve as special messengers for Christ, helping to meet the needs of others by simply saying a kind word or doing good deed.

This book is the  winner of huge awards: 2017 Gold Medal Christian Book Award Winner ~ “young kids” category and 2017 Bronze Medal Readers’ Favorite Book Award Winner ~ “Christian-general” category.

It will make the perfect edition to your child’s library today.
