A Lovely Afternoon of English High Tea

July 31, 2013 By Mary Hill 9 Comments

My daughter still loves tea parties.  We recently had a mother’s and daughter’s day out at a special regional tea shop in our upstate area of South Carolina.

Located in Greenwood, SC, the Goodness and Mercy Tea Shop is located in the back of The Alcoves Shoppes on Montague Avenue. A portion of everything you buy at the Alcoves goes to support A Place for Us Ministries, a residential program for girls that are in a crisis situation such as pregnancy, addictive behavior, suicidal, cutting, or other serious situations.

It really is worth the drive from anywhere in Upstate South Carolina or Western Georgia. I love the shops, and the food at Goodness and Mercy is simply divine.  I hope you enjoy my photographic essay of our afternoon as part of Wordless Wednesday.

Potato Broccoli  Soup (Yum!)
Gorgeous salads, sandwiches, and quiche. I had the garden salad today.
Decadent Chocolate Scone
Every meal is served with a verse of Scripture.

What a lovely place! You can help others by having lunch. I like the touch of the Bible verse too!!

Okay, I’ve not had anything to eat yet today and all this food is making my mouth water.

    Have a terrific day. ☺
