2015 Ice Storm Hits Our State

February 18, 2015 By Mary Hill 9 Comments

Taken By Surprise When Major Ice Storm Hits Southern Upstate South Carolina

I missed self-imposed deadlines yesterday because of an ice storm. The power at my home went out for almost 18 hours. Many Southern cities in the South were blanketed in ice and snow Tuesday. Read more here. All pictures are mine, unless otherwise noted.

Yikes! Your pictures are stunning, but ouch to be without power for 18 hours in an ice storm. Glad you’re okay!

Thanks so much for linking up with Oh My Heartsie Girls Wordless Wednesday. I hope we see you again this week!

Goodness! I have never seen anything quite like this. Picturesque, although I am sure it doesn’t feel like that when you are in the middle of a freeze of this magnitude. Thank you for linking up with #SchoolRunColours

These are so cool! Ice storms are no joke and I hope you kept your power. This reminds me of our Charlotte years where we lost power for days during ice storms. I don’t miss that!

On the bright side, ice storms do leave behind a certain stark beauty in the wake of its devastation, though.

Amazing! Your photos are poetic and narrative. We dont have snow this winter. What we have is so much rain.
