10 Things Thankful in Five

July 26, 2015 By Mary Hill 9 Comments

Another one of my favorite linkups up during the week is Kate Motaung’s Five Minute Friday. Plus, you know how I love the 10 Things of Thankful crowd at Considerings.  So, guess what Kate’s prompt is this week: 10.  Here is the challenge though. Can I write 10 thing that I am thankful for in five minutes. Whew. I also want to be creative and do it as poem. Have I made this any more difficult?

praying mantis

  1. A visit while waiting for a party from a ethereal being brought good luck.
  2. He seemed to sit and sway, as interested in me as I was him.
  3. I love praying mantis like this one. Almost royal and elegant.
  4. Then we went inside to celebrate, my husband’s 54th birthday.
  5. I remember the day we met 13 years ago, four days after his 40th birthday.
  6. His smile and eyes attracted me first.
  7. Then his kindness and love kept me mesmerized.
  8. A wonderful husband and father.
  9. A giving and generous man.
  10. A lover of God and family, he is my partner, lover, and best friend.

My husband is a gift from God.  We met only a month after the worst period in my life. He has brought me so much joy and love. Plus, a little girl that brings me pride and happiness. Life is wonderful and I am so lucky and blessed.

Time is up. That is my 10 Things Thankful in five minutes.

Happy birthday to Ricky. He is a true blessing to you and all who know him. Such a quiet, kind man and wonderful husband and father.

I love the praying mantis, one of my favorites. Hard to find at times, but pop up in the most unexpected places. Great picture. You do wonderful photography.

Love you and am so proud of you.

Hey, Mary. Nice to see you link up. The creativity of your post is inspirational. I saw a praying mantis on the beach last week and scooped him away from the water in an effort to save him from the rising tide. I looked at it as a sign of good. Happy Birthday to your husband; I’m sure the tribute to him made his day special.

Aw. What a nice 10 List 🙂 Good for you for writing it in 5 minutes! What an excellent self challenge. I’m lucky if I can get one out in 1/2 an hour lol Maybe I need to think of it in terms of stream of consciousness writing 🙂
