Everyday, we make choices. We wake up and we look at what lies ahead as the sun creeps out of the night and brightens our landscapes.
We face so many roads; so many paths; so many directions. We could take any one of them, but we stay still. Our souls are frozen. Our minds are locked in time. We can’t decide where to go. We can’t decide.
I have had many mornings like this, haven’t you? My first response has been to lie back down and bury my head in my covers. I am not going to face any of the problems that are knocking on my door today, clambering to get in and war with me. I am not going to deal with them today. I yell, “Go away.” I have a private pity party.
Another response could be anger and disbelief at my situations and crisis. Why me again? My tub will not drain properly. My house is a mess. My life even worse. I have no friends. I have no money. I won’t do this. I need this, but we had to pay that bill that was fair because of this situation. Why, why, why? I am going to get even. That is what I am going to do. My life is so terrible, I am going to make it worse by lashing out and hurting others.

Acts 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

Thanks so much for sharing this post Mary, I think we can all identify with it. I try to walk in the light that I have and trust that God will guide me as I go. I often don’t see the path clearly until I take a look back and see where I have come.
W love you sharing at Fridays Blog Booster Party #22

Mary,
I’m going to dare to say yes to EVERYTHING. I’m usually obedient at saying YES to most things but I tend to doubt myself when God challenges me to thing big, dream big. I think this is my 1st time on your site. Happy to be visiting from #LifeGivingLinkup

Tyra welcome. I agree, but sometimes I wonder is it you Lord or me? How do we know His voice? Just some thoughts. 🙂
Yep, been there with the why questions. I’m learning to live more of a Matt 6:33 way and just trust God’s work in my life. It ain’t easy. I want to fix it all, but am learning that my best boot strap efforts aren’t cutting it. I have to let go and trust that all things come from God’s hand…and therefore must be good.

Mary,
Completely identify with all the inner dialogue and I love your simple question…what can I say yes to God today? Thanks for your post and a new question to start off my mornings!!
