Danise shares:
A Legacy Gift of Words and Love Fulfilled
It was Christmas 1977, although there were many gifts under the tree for me there is only one I remember receiving.
Being twelve years old at time, I didn’t appreciate it then the way I do now because it was a dictionary. Yes that’s right, amongst all the typical presents a preteen girl might receive on Christmas morning, I opened a hard bound High School dictionary. Given to me, with a handwritten dedication from my sweet mom, who among many things was a lover of words.
My mom knew the power of words and she lived her life speaking and writing them to all around her. When she suddenly went home to be with our Lord three years ago, I never had to wonder if my mom loved me. She took every opportunity to let me know.
My bookshelf is filled with books given to me from my mom, each one with a loving handwritten dedication reminding me of her passion for words and the legacy she left behind. There it sits in my study, decades later; the ‘Christmas morning’ dictionary. Though it is worn from years of use and doesn’t look like much to the average on looker, it is precious to me.
As I went through the painful process of sorting through Mom’s items after she passed, I saw right at her bedside a Bible and of course an enormous dictionary. Mom was a very gifted writer, and she longed to have a book published. She crossed to the other side of eternity before ever realizing that dream.
Now, after my own personal ten-year writing journey, countless prayers, edits and rewrites my first book “Fulfilled: Learning to Live God promised” is published and officially releasing on Amazon this week, August 25.
It is moments like these that I genuinely wish that my mom could be here to celebrate with me. Mom has already entered the ultimate “fulfilled” life and I know that I will see her again.
So, I extend the invitation to you my sweet friends to celebrate with me as I launch “Fulfilled” out into the world this week!
I loved these sweet words. I hope you will join us all week as we celebrate the launch of Fulfilled. My book review will go live on Tuesday so please check back here to read more about this wonderful book!
Now back to the linkup. What have you read this week? What literacy activities have you participated in with your family and loved ones. Please share. All family-friendly posts are welcome. 😉

Sarah Eliza’s post at her unique blog: Devastate Boredom
Entitled:
“There will be butterflies.” A Review of the book
Notes from the Tilt-a-Whirl

She writes a very persuasive review about this game-changing book. She writes in her review:
“Notes from the Tilt-a-Whirl is a collage of impressions, logic, memories, thoughts, philosophy, and distant times and places. It is a fun ride, but the title is honest… parts of the book may well leave you dizzy and breathless. You should strap yourself in before embarking on this journey, and you may be risking a little motion sickness.”
