Hello Monday :Books,Goals & Music

As Summer Winds Down

 

Only two weeks ago, we were on vacation. Now summer is ending quickly. My daughter’s first Monday back at school and the house is quiet and lonely. My puppy, Oreo, is snuggled, sleeping next to me with my other dog, Lily, just a barely few more inches away.  It is too quiet. I have decided to rejoin another favorite hope: Lisa Leonard’s Hello Monday.

I have a lot to accomplish this week:

1. Reading books and completing book reviews;
2. Working through a bible study, reading Danise Jurado’s Fulfilled. She joined us on Literacy Musing Mondays  with her guest post.  My book review will go live tomorrow!
3. Trying to figure out my theme of the upcoming Write 31 Days blogging challenge now hosted by Crystal Stine;
4. Continuing my spiritual and weight loss journey: Biggest Loser Round 2 started at my church again this past week. I have 40 pounds I want to shed so I can win this go around. Will you pray for me?
5. Sending out letters for the Five Minute Friday Snail Mail project. Just ran them to the box. I am mixed up. I mailed two letters. I hope I am getting this right.
6. Joining Crytal Stine on Wild in the Hollow Periscope Book Club. (this is one of the books I am trying to wrap up reviewing and the club started today! I don’t even know how to use Periscope yet. Just jumping in.)
7. Working on Week 3 on Being A Writer with Kate Motaung. I haven’t posted anything that I have attempted to write, yet.  I may use this as fuel for my Write 31 Days theme.
8. I also just found about a Bloglovin Contest to grow readership. I joined a little late in the game. Of course, I would find out about an August contest as August is wrapping up. Just my luck.  You can still help me though.

I guess this is more than enough for this week.  I promised music in my title. I found this great history of Christian Contemporary music today when I was visiting my Bloglovin feed. I know this is totally random, but bear with me. Did you know it is the 5th Anniversary of#MondaysMusicMovesMe linkup? It is a small linkup that I participated in when I started blogging more than two years ago. I haven’t joined it in a very, very long time.  I thought it would be fun to rejoin it today so I wanted to share an old Contemporary Christian gospel song from my younger years. In my research, I discovered the site on the history of Christian Contemporary Music.

I began to reminisce and research more about it, and well, I got so caught up in reading. I am just now getting back to this post. I was just looking for a song; and the next thing I new I was reading about Maranatha , Jesus Festivals, and more. I also read about how the Imperials included Elvis’s back-up singers.  I have truly Mary-andered today, but I have a lot fodder for some great posts coming up. 😉
