Finding Freedom From Mistakes

June 21, 2015 By Mary Hill

Finding Freedom From Past Mistakes

Even if They Occurred Just a Few Seconds Ago

Lord, I have gone and done it again

Made a tremendous mess of everything.

Let You down, let my loved ones down.

So much disappointment, my heart is torn into because of my stupidity, my pride.

Why can’t I learn. Why can’t I do better.

My heart is torn because …….

What is your “Because” in this sentence?

Dear, sister give it to Him.

[tweetthis]In the scheme of things, our “Because’s” are momentary. [/tweetthis]We can come to our prayer altars and leave them.

We have a Savior who can apply His glorious grace. He can apply it to our mistakes, our hurtful speech. He can make things new again.

How do we overcome our past mistakes even the ones we just made today?

  • First start with prayer for forgiveness.
  • Followed by a prayer for healing of yourselves and those you hurt.
  • Swallow that pride and tell them how sorry you are. Don’t let the day pass.
  • Move quickly to make amends — hug that person if they will accept it. Cry about it with them if they are crying.
  • Admit your wrong.
  • Give your shame to Him.
  • Know He can move erase all the hurt and harm.
  • Remember they might not accept the apology at first. Leave them in peace and pray for the chance to make amends on God’s timing.
  • Realize the process may take time, but never loose faith.

God knows we are flawed. He knows that we fail. He made us. Even with our failure and our sin, He loves us! He envelops us with His Grace. Even our mistakes are used by Him for His Glory!

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
