By Mary Hill
I am wrapping up two books this week. The first one is :
I posted my review today. Check it out here.
I also read more of the sweet Christmas short stories in Katherine Paterson’s latest:

This book is guaranteed to get you in the mood for Christmas as you read the very special stories. From an old lady Scrooge whose outlook on life is soften by the sweetness of a little boy trying to earn Christmas star for this Sunday school team to a man fleeing his homeland to escape persecutors and saves his family to a fictional account of how Mary, mother of Jesus, must have felt the night of His birth in a lowly stable, the stories bring warmth and hope to the soul.
I even cried at one point in a story about a man, beaten and laid low because of his faith in God and His love for the Bible that he protected and cherished. The man could not even read but had faith in Christ anyway.
Here is my teaser from this book that I highly recommend:
pg 47
“God’s Holy Spirit came to me, a nothing child, a poor man’s girl? King David’s mighty ….. Can you believe it? God’s anointed one upon my breast, with milk, just there, at the corner of his tiny mouth. His hair black and thick and stands up like shocks of weed upon his head … Every part of me shouts and sings.”
I hope you are enjoying your reading today. In the comments, let leave me a link and I will read your family friendly teasers too. 🙂
