Turn My Eyes

November 7, 2014 By Mary Hill 4 Comments

9:55 a.m.

All I need to do is Turn

I turn my eyes upon Jesus. I look into His wonderful face and the things of this world grow strangely dim in the light of your Glory and Grace.

How many times have I really turned to you through the years. I have sought you in need and sought you in convenience. I am so guilty. All I have to do is call and you do all the turning. You never forsake me or leave me; no matter how much I slide and sin.

You are so gracious, so forgiving, and so kind. I am so undeserving of your love and great sacrifice. You turn anyway and love me. You always answer this simple prayer with love:

Psalm 69:16
Hear me, O Lord; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.
Lord, your miracle rests in the fact that I don’t deserve you turning to me. You do this out of great love and grace.
If you, my friend, just call on Him, he will turn to you too. He will give you reason to sing and praise. He is Holy, so Holy.

“Turn” is Kate Motaung’s Five Minute Friday prompt for the week, and this is my response. I focus on “turning my eyes upon Jesus.” You can link up your five minute thoughts on the word Turn here:

Hi, Mary! We’re FMF neighbors today, so here I am. 🙂

I love your post. Your prayer is also the same prayer I have said many times. I will be forever in awe of God’s unconditional love and ceaseless grace.

May you have blessed Friday. 🙂

And oh, I love that hymn, Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus. 🙂
