Terri Blackstock’s ‘If I Run’ Fitbit Giveaway

January 21, 2016 By Mary Hill 7 Comments

Terry Blackstock’s latest book, If I Run,  excites and inspires!

If I Run

Note: I have included affiliate links in this post. If you use one  to purchase If I Run, I will receive a small portion which I use to help pay blogging expenses. I also received a free copy of this book from Litfuse Publicity Group in exchange for my honest review. Thanks for your support.

Terri Blackstock is my all time Christian-suspense author, and she did not let me down this time. If I Run is tightly written and keeps the reader on the edge of her seat with each turn of the page.

Casey Cox’s life turned upside down when she found her father dead as a teenager. She never believed her father killed himself. As a result, she doesn’t trust authority and even questions the existence of God.  After her best friend starts his own investigation into the death of her father, he is murdered. Casey finds his body and is forced to flee before she is captured or worse. How can she prove that she did not kill her friend? How can she survive on the run from police and those that want to hurt her. She lies and creates a new identity to cover her tracks.

To make matters worse, her friend’s parents have hired a talented private investigator to find her so that justice can be served. Dylan Roberts has his own demons to conquer, however. A war-veteran, he battles PTSD, and this case could help him reclaim his life if he finds Casey and brings her in. He is a professional, however, and wants to examine the evidence to understand Casey and where she may run too.

In his investigation, he finds the evidence is not adding up. He also sees that Casey doesn’t fit the profile of a killer . . . but her DNA is all over the crime scene, and she’s now a fugitive.  Unraveling her past and the evidence that condemns her will take more time than Dylan has, but as Dylan’s damaged soul intersects with hers, he is faced with two choices. The girl who occupies his every thought is a psychopathic killer . . . or a selfless hero. And the truth could be the most deadly weapon yet.

Mrs. Blackstock successfully blends mystery with spiritual matters. Casey is not Christian, but when an elderly woman offers to help her, she sees more than a kind heart. She sees a woman of  a real faith that attracts her and makes her seek out her own personal truths. Will she discovers God’s love in time before the evil that seeks to destroys her finds her?

I have never read a Christian suspense book but this sounds pretty interesting. I will have to make it my first adventure in suspense.
