Ten Things of Thankful: Family, Love, and Football

Ten Things of Thankful

What a great weekend I have had.

1. Right now, I am watching the South Carolina Super Bowl, USC versus Clemson. It is our state’s equivalent of the Super Bowl.

2.  Guess what we just won!  Yea. Our fifth consecutive win over our biggest rival. Before the game we were ranked No. 10 in the US and Clemson ranked No. 6.

3. Earlier Saturday, we celebrated our little grandson’s first birthday. Notice his father, and our son, Eric is wearing a USC Gamecock sweatshirt.  He really had a great day today too. His son is one, and his favorite team won the biggest game of the year.

4. I want to thank Angie from Sew Crafty blog who let me know that I am the winner of the Happy Cyber Monday giveaway.  I am doing the happy dance tonight. I now have the money to buy hubby a wonderful present.

5.  Now, it is Sunday morning, and we are rushing to get ready to go to church to worship.  Our church is miles away, but my husband’s son is the pastor. I am proud of his accomplishments.

6.  We have a great Christmas season to look forward to. Here is my new Christmas tree awaiting ornaments:

7.  I had great month writing as part of the National Nonfiction Writing Month (NaNonFiWriMo). Thanks to Nina Amir for organizing this growing challenge as a response to National Novel Writing Month. She wanted to give those who specialize in writing nonfiction a challenge to participate in. I think with time her efforts will grow even more. If you write nonfiction, this challenge is one for you to put on your calendar for next year.
8.  I have a big month ahead with lots of great church, community, and family activities to participate in for the holiday season. How are your holiday plans shaping up?

9.  As we finish our Thanksgiving weekend in the US, I am challenging myself to find ways to pay it forward.  I have so much to be grateful for. God has been so good to me this year.  I need to focus on all the positives in my life. (I am really preaching to myself this morning. LOL).

10.  I am thankful for my home, my family, and the love of my life, my husband. Although, this morning, I want to wring his neck and then kiss him all at once. He is the most wonderfully, aggravating person in the world. Then there is my daughter who is sweet, loving and beautiful.

What are you thinking yourself happy about today?

God Bless everyone today and I hope you had a wonderful holiday. Now on to Christmas and then the new year.

I know the games are great. I am amazed our Gamecocks won by such a good margin. It was a nail-biter right until the last quarter of the game.

What a cute one year old that grandbaby of yours is! And the cake! Awesome. Who made it?

Congrats on the win of the giveaway. It’s always fun to win something like that.

I have very little done or even planned for this Advent season. Ah well. It will get done.

    Have a lovely afternoon!

My daughter-in-law ordered it from a local cake decorator. She said she found the actual idea on Pinterest and gave it to the decorator. It was a fun party.

Awwww I love the cake and the smile from Seth – SOOOO adorable 😀

Happy weekend, and glad you’ve been having such a wonderful time. Looking forward to hearing how you might ‘pay it forward’. I’ve been thinking the same but different kinds of thoughts 🙂
