Struggling But Remaining Positive

May 20, 2013 By Mary Hill 5 Comments

Day 20, Monday: Get real. Share something you’re struggling with right now.

Tomorrow, I go for tests to see if I am bleeding somewhere inside and if so it could be causing my anemia.  My husband said it seems that I want them to find something in my endoscopy tomorrow.  He is right to a degree. If they don’t find anything then I will have to have a colonoscopy next. If they don’t find anything in that test, then I will have to have a bone marrow sample test.  Here is my fear after going through all these expensive and sometimes painful tests: the doctors once again never discover why I keep having anemia issues. The anemia will be back in a year, two years or even four.  Struggling with a lot of what ifs, but I will remain positive.

The best case scenario: they find something minor, fix it and I never get anemia again and don’t have anything else going on that is more serious. Sounds good to me.

In the meantime, like I said, I am remaining positve.  I am reaching out and trying to gain more readership for my blog:  Mary-andering Thoughts and Issues.  Today, I have my first contributing writer, Mary from Back to Basics, who writes about GMOs and the safety of our food supply.

Learning about this issue is critical for a number of reasons. Number one for me is the health of my family, especially my daughter.  I worry about her exposure to GMOs and hormones in our food supply. She seems to have issues and is seeing a specialist too. She goes back in June for a follow up. If the current course of treatment did not work, she may have to have more extensive treatment that could even include surgery. Could her problems be connected. Our girls are entering puberty earlier and earlier and are having issues at younger ages.

The second major reason is that we need to be proactive about our food supply by getting involved and educating ourselves.  It is up to us to make sure changes are made that will protect the health of our families. I hope you will visit Mary-andeirng Thoughts and Issues and start learning for yourself. I am just getting started myself and I have a lot to learn. With learning comes real knowledge and with knowledge: the power to make a difference.

Today once again I will be joining the Monday Mingle Blog Hop hosted by http://www.southernsunflowersandcoffeebeans.com/ .

Sorry to hear you are still struggling with anemia. It has to be tough when the answers aren’t there yet. Take care and don’t lose heart.
One reason I am growing a garden is so my husband and I can enjoy pesticide free veggies. I spend a lot of time reading labels at the supermarket these days too. Full agreement on GMO foods. The more natural the product, the better–but even there, some of those ‘all natural’ labels are suspicious.

I’m sorry to read about your ongoing health issues and send healing thoughts your way. Positive thought can be difficult and it seems that you are doing a great job at remaining optimistic!

About the GMO food…I couldn’t agree more. The stuff is just plain bad and America needs to ban it as so many other countries have done.

I do hope your problems can be sorted, Fear is us all when it comes to illness. Thinking positive is hard to do but the only thing to be. Good luck.

    Yvonne.
